Reserved a table online at about dinner time. At one point we were the only ones in there. This is more a place for locals than the occasional wandering tourist though everyone was very friendly. Outstanding staff, attentive but not overwhelming. Food is very good though nothing here will knock your socks off. Very solid wine list. Entree menu is... More

this small neighborhood restaurant offers very good french bistro fare at a reasonable price. the staff is knowledgeable and very friendly. pace of the meal is pleasant and unrushed. we were able to have a quiet conversation and not be drowned out by excessive restaurant noise.

Very cozy; very charming; very French atmosphere. This is a 'dining' experience. Great for a 'date night' (my second visit); 2 couples, or several close companions. Its got the perfect clientelle and acoustics for genial conversations; you can actually speak in a normal tone and hear each other! Hope it never gets spoiled by large group diners! The food is... The food and service at Chateau du Lac are excellent and very consistent. We go there at least monthly and have never been disappointed.

New Orleanians have so many restaurant choices. This is a good one, but more for locals in Metairie. There are better places to eat in the city. Service and food were fine, but not outstanding.

I always enjoy Chateau du lac. The food is good, but I always want it to be better. Don't get me wrong, it's good. Just not over the top.

It's refreshing to get away from the tourist spots in NOLA. This place delivers on the bistro style of food. I had steak tartar and duck confit. Both were well prepared and excellent. Nothing fancy here just good French cooking. Solid wine list. They even had a French style accordion player out front playing French music. Nice place.

My family and I have visited this restaurant numerous times in the past few years. Every visit has been unforgettable. The wines are amazing and the food it divine. The most recent experience included the cheese plate as an appetizer with a bottle of "F" wine. I had the hanger steak entree and my wife had the flounder. For dessert... More

Chef Jacque is from Brittany, but his bistro fare spans all of France with an emphasis on the freshest local Louisiana seafood, meats and green stuff! I eat out weekly, but C.D.L. in Old Metairie is a fix I need on a regilar basis to find the best and most authentic bistro fare in the entire NOLA metro area. Nothing... More
