This is the high water point of Mandeville. It's lakefront it's beautiful it's southern it's charming and it's phenomenal. I had a fantastic blackened grouper and it was done to the t. Service was what you expect in the south, prompt efficient courteous and spot on. Food and ambience were supreme. Food quality was extremely premium. And the prices for... More

The appetizer was cold and the service was poor. The waiter never hardly came to the table, never got refills or coffee or water. Never asked if we wanted desert or how was our meal.

If you go, order fresh fish...best salmon I've ever had! My son ordered fried shrimp and catfish and it was good but nothing like the fresh fish. Do not wear a tank top...they don't like that and will ask you to put on your coat or sweatshirt. I give it 5 stars for the food and view of the lake...would... More

This gets three stars because the location is wonderful. A beautiful view of the Lake and the food is fine. We went today to the bottom level where the special was boiled crawfish. My husband stated that I wanted something else and the attendant said, "we only have crawfish down here". Fair enough. I ate crawfish ( nicely spiced -... More

If you want amazing fresh seafood, great view of lake Ponchartrain, and great service, then Rips is the place to go. Never had a bad meal, and they give generous portions. But one of my favorite things is to sit at the bar eating and watching football. Ask for Chase, who serves a very generous glass of wine. He's also... More

We've been here at least 20 times, and today was a disappointment. I was ok that we couldn't get a table for 2 outside even though there were tables available (I can appreciate they were saving the large tables git larger groups) although I totally disagree with the thought process. We decided to sit at the bar. At the time... More

Oysters on the half shell were very fresh. I had the oysters bayou teche as my entree, they were my favorite oyster dish in a long while. Oysters Lightly fried, with lump crab meat on top, and butter , served with a twice baked potato. Delicious. The service was very good.. Thank you Blake! All of our meals were really... More

If you want a nice place on the lakefront to get seafood and drinks at affordable prices, this is your place. The food is tasty (especially the desserts) and the drinks are generous.
