Discovered today, after traveling from South Florida, that they have gone out if business. Would have been considerate to notify the public in advance.

We drove four hours to eat at Louie and the Redhead Lady. We check their website to make sure they'd be open and their website and google both showed they were open until 9pm. When we arrived at 3pm, they were CLOSED! The sign on the door showed they would open at 5pm. So now I still have no idea... More

I have been wanting to visit this restaurant for some time as I am a fan of Diners Drive Ins and Dives. Place........dinerish Service.....promt Food........ Good with some excellent......all food tasted and looked good however the gumbo was too salty and thin and lacked the rich flavor you would expect from a good gumbo. I also had the oysters served... I took my MIL and 2 boys to Louie and the Redhead Lady for lunch last month. We all ended up ordering shrimp poboys fully dressed. Plus I ordered an appetizer that was HUGE. However, as good as the food was, I still ended up paying $60 by the time taxes and tips were added for a middle of the... More

Came here straight from the airport and in the pouring rain! When we all ran in the door soaking wet the hostess and a waitress immediately gave us towels to dry off with. Very attentive service. Menu was not huge so you did not have so many things to try to decide between. Fried oysters and shrimp were great and... More

The food is always good & lots of it. The potato salad & sides are homemade & great with whatever you order. My fave is the all you can eat shrimp. Go hungry & wear lose clothes. Wish they were in an easier to get to location though.

Perhaps the cold, rainy weather kept people away. Or was it because it was a Monday? More likely it was just too hard to get to, off a frontage road by the bridge. At any rate, the parking lot was empty and we almost didn't stop at all. The restaurant was empty. The decor is nothing to write home about.... More

My husband and I took a little detour to try their oysters and it was well worth it. They do not skimp on garlic at this place, nor can they be accused of small portion sizes. Very nice place.

My sister-in-law challenged me to eat at a 3-D place on our trip so I chose this place. We were there for a late lunch (around 3) and the place was about empty. The waitress was very friendly and helpful to a couple of Minnesotans very unfamiliar with local foods. She explained the dishes very well and gave us a... More
