The Hoddington Arms is a beautifully restored country pub serving great food, wine and real ales in the picturesque rural village of Upton Grey, Hampshire. Our highly attentive team offer a warm welcome and can recommend a variety of locally brewed ales and wines to suit all tastes. Our talented chefs serve fantastically prepared, fresh locally sourced produce, all in the idyllic Hampshire countryside, and we welcome all members of your family - including children and dogs. We also have an attractive, large garden just perfect for relaxing and dining, or you can warm up in front of our fires.

Great find - possibly the best within 25 miles radius

From the moment we walked in it felt "right" - homely country inn atmosphere. Great service, never rushed nor delayed - it was given at our pace with good charm. We had a 5 course tasting menu and with these there are usually a couple of courses that don't quite make it, but not in this case - 5... read more

We had a delicious meal here on a Friday night. On the menu is Butchers steak which is accompanied by thrice cooked chips and veg. Highly recommended.

The staff and management made us all (5 adults and 2 children) feel really welcome. We were worried about going out for Christmas dinner but the worrying was for nothing. Food was top quality and plenty of it...all six courses of it! The service was attentive and spot on. We even had a visit from Santa that the kids loved.... More

Arrived yesterday for lunch, and couldn't fault it from start to finish, as always. Starters, sausage chorizo rolls, & I had homemade bread with balsamic vinger & olive oil, crusty, fresh, melted in your mouth. Mains, homemade shredded beef pie, and I had sea Brem, I have to say the best I've had. Beautiful, so much flavour, & very moreish,very... More

We started coming here, as it's fairly local, when it had re-opened in its current form. It was excellent - fantastic customer service, great food, great atmosphere - a real treat. It changed hands and went - in my humble opinion - to a lesser level than expected. I'm very pleased to say that it's back where it should be... More

Went with a large group and took over most of the restaurant . I had a delicious twice baked soufflé followed by an equally delicious pannacotte for dessert . Service was good and the general atmosphere very cosy . Seating on one side of the table was a little bit inaccessible and involved crawling along the bench but apart from... More

My wife and I went for a pre-concert supper. I had twice cooked cheese soufflé which was delicious and light. It was accompanied by an excellent salad with poached peers and walnuts. Top quality! My wife chose Guinea fowl and reported it excellent too. £45 including two large glasses of wine. Not bad and certainly it was very good value... More

Had dinner here tonight, yes it was nice, food was tasty but I was surprised that the turbot for two was not de-boned and filleted at the table instead leaving us to do it... fiddly and then meant that our party of four were all at different stages of our main courses. Only complaint being the tables were not cleared... More
