Very Good Pies

We visited Lea's at the recommendation of co-workers. We were told the trip is worth it for the pie alone and that is absolutely correct!! Our sampling included pecan and coconut - both were delicious!! The meringue on the coconut pie was light and sweet and the pecans were generously added. We ate... read more

Had a great lunch at Lea's Lunchroom. Sat at the large table that is reserved for the group of gentlemen that come for coffee each day. I sat in Dr. Fitz's chair. Everyone on the menu was outstanding that day. A must is a piece of pie for dessert. If you leave without having a piece of pie, you have... More

Great ham sandwiches and wonderful pies. A great roadside stop when traveling through LA. Not far from I-49.

Because this restaurant holds so many fond memories it was hard to post a negative review. Time has not been kind to this restaurant. The lunch which was supposed to be beef tips looked like a can of dog food over cold potatoes. The green beans were cold and watery. The roll was from a package served with butter. Gone... More

We stopped in on our way to Baton Rouge from Alexandria. Made a special stop to get two pies; an apple and pecan. Both were excellent but I thought they were expensive at $20.00 each!!

i'd heard about Lea's pies for ages; I had a slice several years ago but her reputation is overrated and her oues are way over priced. The merengue on the lemon pie was hardly cooked; was someone in a hurry to get them out of the oven? There were orecious few apples in her apple pie, it was mostly sweet... More

Was an okay experience. Friendly staff serving home cooking. Ordered one of three lunch specials, baked ham with blackeyed peas and mashed potatoes with gravy. Loved the ham and potatoes. $8.95. Also ordered lemonade and coconut cream pie. Pie was $4.95. Total for lunch was $16 plus tip. Pie was not that special. For the price, I was expecting better.... More

Cookie and I took a road trip recently to visit a relative in the area and stopped for lunch at the Best Pie and Ham joint in the world: Lea's in LeCompte near Alexanxria! The staff were very friendly and helped me, while I was perusing their Gift Shop, to get a real treat (a onesie) for a daughter of... More

Have stopped here a number of times. Lunch menu is a but limits, but sandwiches are good. The real treat are the pies. Fruit pies are by far the best - just not a meringue fan. Great stop off 171 or I-49. Watch speed thru town.

A friend and I stopped here because we were looking for something other than the usual fast food while on a road trip. The homey, country store atmosphere was appealing. There were only three entrées and two sandwiches on the menu that day. My friend and I both ordered the roast beef sandwich. The sandwich did not come with any... More
