Review is for pie

It's hard to review a place that is known for pies, but also serves lunch. I'm ONLY reviewing the pies we've eaten here. Pecan - tastes homemade. Not overly gelatinous. It has a rich buttery flavor and the pecans aren't too chewy. The piece of pie had had fresh pecans on it. Lemon... read more

Near the crossroads of Louisiana, politicians have stopped here since the Longs. The gracious service is matched only by the luncheon specials and sandwiches--roasted pork and ham (a tradition there). The pies are memorable in range and taste.

My wife, my two daughters, a dear friend from Louisiana, and I were seeing all the important sites in Louisiana. We had been driving around for hours. We got lost near Alexandria. We couldn't find a good place to eat. We were all tired, annoyed, and hungry. Finally, we found it: Lea's Lunchroom. Our friend had been there before, and... More

Have be stopping at Leas since 1950's and it's still outstanding. My favorite is the banana pie. Also coconut, chocolate, peach and blackberry pies. The ham sandwich it worth the stop all by itself.

We visited Lea's at the recommendation of co-workers. We were told the trip is worth it for the pie alone and that is absolutely correct!! Our sampling included pecan and coconut - both were delicious!! The meringue on the coconut pie was light and sweet and the pecans were generously added. We ate lunch before our dessert - my husband... More

Had a great lunch at Lea's Lunchroom. Sat at the large table that is reserved for the group of gentlemen that come for coffee each day. I sat in Dr. Fitz's chair. Everyone on the menu was outstanding that day. A must is a piece of pie for dessert. If you leave without having a piece of pie, you have... More

Great ham sandwiches and wonderful pies. A great roadside stop when traveling through LA. Not far from I-49.

Because this restaurant holds so many fond memories it was hard to post a negative review. Time has not been kind to this restaurant. The lunch which was supposed to be beef tips looked like a can of dog food over cold potatoes. The green beans were cold and watery. The roll was from a package served with butter. Gone... More

We stopped in on our way to Baton Rouge from Alexandria. Made a special stop to get two pies; an apple and pecan. Both were excellent but I thought they were expensive at $20.00 each!!

i'd heard about Lea's pies for ages; I had a slice several years ago but her reputation is overrated and her oues are way over priced. The merengue on the lemon pie was hardly cooked; was someone in a hurry to get them out of the oven? There were orecious few apples in her apple pie, it was mostly sweet... More
