Eaten here multiple times, never any complaints. Favorites are the shrimp po'boy and Darrell's Special. Always get mine with jalapeño mayo every time. The food is always excellent, hot, and served quickly. Fantastic staff and atmosphere, especially on weekends during ball games. Big screen TVs and pitchers of beer = great place to meet up with friends!

Yes, it is a bar environment and the menu is limited to about 7 sandwiches but these are the most amazing sandwiches and you must try them. We went with some locals and were amazed at the amount of people coming and going. Even youth baseball teams were coming in. It will get noisy but I can't stress enough that... More

Looked on TripAdvisor for a place to eat a good po-boy in Lake Charles and decided to go to Darrell's. It was great. My wife had the surf and turf -- she was full about half way through but ate more anyways because she said it was so good! You will get messy eating these - which explain's why so... More

We were hungry for a good sandwich and found just that at Darrell's. This is the sandwich/bar location in Lake Charles, not bad with a beer either. They have a great selection from roast beef to ham orca combination called the Darrell's Special. Try their homemade dressing made with jalapena's which gives it a little bite and by the way... More

You will find on of the best po-boys in Lake Charles here. The "Darrell's Special" is the one to get. Make sure that you aren't wearing good clothes, because you will most likely end up wearing some of this juicy, messy bundle of goodness!

My ideal lunch consists of a large Darrell's turkey po-boy followed by a nap. This is a serious sandwich not to be trifled with. The bread is crusty, flaky, and buttery. The turkey is smoky and juicy, and it tastes like it came from an actual turkey. Darrell's serves their po-boys with three slices of cheese: American, Swiss, and provolone.... More

We were just passing through Lake Charles, looking for a casual lunch with local flavor. Thank you trip advisor! While Luna bar and Grill looked great, we weren't dressed for it. Poboys sounded perfect since we were in Louisiana. The atmosphere was casual as could be, packed on Saturday afternoon. Kinda sports bar-ish, but very large and family oriented. There... More

More like a family-friendly bar than a restaurant, Darrell's serves up about six varieties of poboys and bags of chips. Nothing else. But people flock here because they've perfected the poboy. The most delectable, buttery bread is filled with nice portions of meat or shrimp. (The shrimp is sautéed in butter, not fried.). There are TV's over the bar and... More
