I'm sorry for any customer who would think I did not love my job and the people I work for, yes I am 20 and you can legally be 18 to sell alcohol in Louisiana. I'm so sorry to those who are offended by my age, but I know my beer better than most people I've met. That plus my... More

The food was pretty good. They were out of some beverages. The owners of this place has cameras in the bar, an alcohol tracking device, and a log book employees sign for breaking glasses. No system will help you if you put a 20 y/o behind the bar to bartend. She talked bad about the owner, drank on duty in... More

I like the sandwich selections and the fish and chips. The fish and chips is large enought to share. The chicken breast sandwich is great as is the burger. I prfer the homemade chips for a side but you can get sweet potato fries or regular fries.

Great casual atmosphere and wonderful food! Waitstaff's kilts seem authentic, and all are very friendly and helpful. Love the corned beef and cabbage, among other traditional Celtic treats, but no haggis! Good sandwiches and pages and pages of beers! Good Guiness, too. Yes, we'll go back!

I stopped here my first night in Lake Charles. It was around 8:15 on Monday night, so the place was pretty slow. I sat at the bar and was quickly informed that the kitchen was closed. The short version is the draft beer system is the worst I seen and you will NOT get a decent beer from the tap.... More

I moved to Lake Charles 11 months ago and am always searching for new, great restaurants. While driving downtown tonight, we turned down a side street & found MacFarlanes. It looked charming, and we could sit outside & see the lake. Omg.....we were so excited to sample delicious food, great beer & wine selection, & an excellent server named Temperance!... More

We have stopped in at MacFarlane's every time we are in the area and it has never failed to make me happy. Our last trip there (this past weekend) was of special note. We encountered a waitress by the name of Temperance, who is a big Dr. Who fan and has a personality bigger than the bar. We loved every... More

MacFarlane's has wonderful ambiance. It's small and intimate, and the lighting is pleasant. The food is consistently good. I'm very fond of the grilled chicken with tasso and crawfish cream sauce. The potatoes Colcannon are delicious. Whenever friends and family come from out of town to visit, this is where we meet.

Stopped in for a late night dinner. The service was okay, not exceptional, not very friendly. The food was good, but the beer selection left something to be desired for a pub. I would try it again.
