Good down home cooking

We came down from New Orleans to explore the area. It was a Sunday and Boutte's was the only place open for a few miles around. The service was friendly and welcoming. The food was very good--we had the frog's legs, an oyster po'boy, and fried catfish. All we excellent.

Boutte's is a small country diner with diner food. The service was good but the food just average. Salad was pre made and came straight from the cooler on a plate. Dressing in small plastic cups. Wife had a meat patty(like a tenderized meat patty) with a brown gravy that had to have been powdered. She was not impressed. I had... More

I had the opportunity to eat lunch here twice and both time I had the Shrimp and Catfish combo for lunch. Both the shrimp and catfish were from local suppliers and they were some of the best I have ever had and I grew up in Louisiana. I highly recommend this place!

My cousins and I went here for lunch. We tried ordering the crab meat sandwich and fried crab claws but they were out of both. We started with the chicken gumbo and fried crawfish as appetizers. Then for our meal we had the stuff crab platter, the fried chicken and a bowl of chicken gumbo . All of the food was... More

The service was really great and the food was also ok. Nothing too special. Ask your waiter if the fish is going to be fried or not in advance to avoid dissapointment when ordering the fresh fish!

we ordered a variety of things so we could try a little bit of all of it. my favorite was the shrimp salad, it reminded me of what my grandmother made when i was a kid. the food, service and the value all make this a place you want to try.

Location is very casual, as we walked in and sat amongst what looked to be oyster or shrimp fisherman. These two families had huge platters of fried food, of what appeared to have been a bartered meal. As in traded catch for dinner. This is a way of life down South. One plate had a flounder so large the fins... More

Didn't look like much from the outside but we were so pleasantly surprised. The oysters were gigantic! Took five or six bytes to eat each one. Was even better than Acme oyster house.

Look inside and find your mother waiting on you. We took some friends from CO to see alligators at Lafitte National Park and then went to Boutte's for lunch. We had the frog legs, Supreme shrimp and seafood gumbo. Everything was great. We stopped there because of our belief: 'When in a new area stop where all the cars are"... More

Finding a great down-home restaurant with friendly service like this a real treat. We had just finished our 'Airboat Adventure' at noon, and a local had recommended this place. They had soft-shelled crabs on special that day, and we latched right on to those along with a side of fresh shrimp and taters. After dining at several fancier and more... More
