The owner of this place is a doctor and comes into the place all the time to visit with the customers. He will sit at your table and chat, bring out samples for you to try and even order your dinner for you if you let him. All the staff are required to sample everything on the menu before they... On arrival, the incense is a little over powering and that is absolutely my only negative comment. The server was delightful! She made wonderful suggestions from the menu. The special was Lamb Oso Bucco and it was amazing. We were a party of 4 - our food was served family style so we could all experience the flavors. We had... More

Love this place. Awesome selection for vegetarians and vegans. The lamb is the best I am told. Eat here a lot.

Get the chicken tikka masala! It is delicious. I enjoy the butter chicken also. This is definitely a place I was hesitant to try, but now I am happy I did because it is one of my favorite spots in Lafayette. The desserts are also amazing. They bring them out for you to see at the end beforehand so they are... More

The oveewhelming scent of incense RUINED the meal! The server admitted that the owner had decided to "burn lots of incense" I explained I have asthma and asked them to stop burning it but the smell actually got stronger! The meal tasted like incense, just awful!

Was there on a business trip craving Indian! The waiter was an older man that needs to retire not very friendly but anyway we were there for the food and I must say Baton Rouge Indian restaurants taste a whole lot better than at Masala. Bay Leaf , Curry n Kebabs and Indian restaurant on Essen serves delicious Indian foods.... More

If there is a successful authentic Indian restaurant in the heart of Cajun country that says a lot for the quality of the food. My wive favors the lentil soup and my favorite is the tandoori shrimp. The lassi (mango smoothie) is very good and we have yet to get anything from the menu (we have gone through about 30%... More

We tried 2 Vegetarian Curries and they were horrible. Tandoori Roti too thick to get baked evenly. 18% gratuity for 3 people ...charged without our consent. Bill errors from wrong items added to wrong quantities for small things like tea/coffee.. The look appearance of the place is very good. For the price $$$; Houston has excellent options.

We were on a road trip and had been in the car for about 7 hours when we decided to take a break for some Indian food. We looked on Yelp to see what our best option would be, and decided to give Masala Indian Kitchen a try. We all loved the food. The ambiance was lovely, and the food... More

My friend and I had dinner here the other night. The food was delicious. It is some of the best Indian food I have had in the United States. The spicing is exquisite and everything is so fresh. The restaurant is quite nice inside. The service was excellent. The owner, Dr. Grupta, came over and sat with us. One could... More
