I went for a working lunch, was doing some training at the University. Ordered the special, red beans & rice with catfish and a cup of gumbo. The gumbo tasted burnt, there is no other way to describe it. The red beans were great, best part of the entire meal. I had the catfish blackened and it was okay, nothing... More

This was my first time eating at the Blue Dog and will be my last. I was excited to eat here with local friends. Walking into the restaurant was like walking into a private museum. All kinds of Blue Dog and Rodrigue paintings on the walls. I loved the atmosphere and that is where the love ended. I ordered a... More

Delicious. I had the Corn & Crab Bisque, Chicken Bayou Teche and Bread Pudding. It was quite the splurge as far as eating was concerned but is worth having to adjust your belt!! I can't say which of the three I enjoyed the most. The atmosphere was wonderful. All the George Rodrique pieces on display were amazing. Service was on... More

I had never been to the Blue Dog Cafe before. I was looking forward to going because I absolutey adore George Rodrigue Blue Dog pieces! I figured the place would be unique and the food would be nothing but spectacular. The restaurant was not too far out of our way back to Texas. I will say I should've paid more... More

Met friends for brunch and it was delicious. Large variety of food and complimentary mimosas. Family friendly environment. There were many tables with children of various ages and everyone seemed happy. Crab cakes are delicious. Mimosas are delicious. Waffles were nice and fluffy with several syrups/sauces to choose from (bananas foster is amazing). We will be back.

this was our last stop on the cajun food tour. all the previous food didn't seem to diminish the flavor of this scrumptious bread pudding.

I eat there for lunch when I am in town, the pork medallions with plum sauce and dirty rice is most excellent, they have the best dirty rice I have eaten in a restaurant.

On a trip through Lafayette we wanted to find a good cajun restaurant and we were certainly not disappointed. We arrived just after opening at lunch and it was a good thing because it filled quickly. We had blackened catfish with a crayfish étouffée that was wonderful. The flounder was also good. The bread pudding with praline sauce was the... More
