Good dinner spot when traveling from Houston to NOLA/AL/FL

This place is well worth the the side trip from Houston to New Orleans / Alabama / Florida. We stopped here a few years ago and it was a small little joint. This time it has probably tripled in size.

Had dinner with some coworkers. I have eaten here before. Everything is covered in cheese. They don't have all the Cajun staples. The soups are supposed to be famous - I found them to be overly thickened with flour.

Seafood wontons, crab au graten, corn macque choux, dirty rice, Santillo Caesar salad (Caesar salad with fried shrimp and oysters AND a crab cake), bread pudding, good wine, good company, great service....all watched over by dozens of blue dogs. Pretty awesome. Nuff said.

Not what we expected for Cajun food. Service was good but the food was just ok. Would not go back there. The gumbo was incredibly salty. Ordered the crab plate which was alot of food but mostly overcooked. Not worth the $25 price tag.

My husband is not too keen on Sunday Brunch always assuming he'll eat too much & I am the opposite, not eating much, but I had heard of the reviews and we had to go. There isn't a huge display of food, but what's there is really special including some of the favorites on the regular menu and there's live... More

The assortment at the café was amazing. Crab tacos, Crab Bisque soup, Pork in a spicy sauce, Grits, Sausage, desserts. Pecan Pie, key lime pie. Ohhh La La. Worh the $23.00

the "hostess" told me they ONLY take reservations a few days ahead of time... I guess they are so "busy" in August that they don't need additional business... oh well, there are plenty restaurants in Lafayette to take your business!

Nice small place, so it was very busy, although we didn't need a reservation on a week night. Very good food, very good service.

I visited for my anniversary and my wife and I had an enchanting evening. We were offered seating near the live band or away from the live band. We opted for the live Cajun band. The food was perfect quantities and oh so good. The atmosphere was mature but not ancient. And fine art pieces all around from the owner/artist.... More

I had the blacked grilled chicken it was to die for! Only rating four out of five stars because it was incredibly loud I could barely hear my husband across the booth.
