Great food and a great chef. No food better anywhere. Southern cooking at its finest. Please try the Ceasar salad topped with crab cakes & grilled shrimp. Yummy!

I had read recent reviews on Trip Advisor that Blue Dog had let their standards slip. However my wife an I ate there two nights back to back (Fri, Sat) and only found that the difference between now and some years ago is their increased local popularity. When arriving between 6:30 and 7:30 one DOES need to book a table... More

The seafood was fabulous and the live jazz music was the perfect addition to the whole cajun experience that I was hoping for. I cant say enough good things about this place. My husband and I shared the shrimp dinner and also had a cup of crawfish etouffee. It was more than enough food for us both. Then we shared... More

The 'Blue Dog' is a famous painting by Louisiana artist George Rodrigue. We found out later (from the waitress when we asked) that this is not the official restaurant, but that a Lafayette lawyer has a deal with the artist to show the collection and to use the name. We arrived here on a Saturday night - about 30 minutes... More

Best cajun food I have ever eaten, and excellent beer too. Great wait staff, and wonderful service. Could not have been happier.

Located on in the heart of the older business district, the Blue Dog Café is a favorite for locals and travelers alike. The menu has a great selection of popular Cajun dishes that represent well the great food found in south Louisiana. Enough variety that everyone can find something to enjoy. If you can't decide, just pick anyone, you'll be... More

Stopped by on the way home from Baton Rouge to TX. Decided on this place based on Trip Advisor Reviews. Cool place with a live band. Went during Brunch on a Sunday. A varitey of food choices in the Brunch. Could not order from the Menu since it was Brunch. Liked the Blue Dog theme in all the pictures...especially the... More

We stopped here on a Sunday for brunch while being in the area. The food it good like most local restaurants in Lafayette. I do feel that it is over priced for what they had & mostly just a tourist attraction. Not saying it is not nice. If you are from out of town, you may enjoy it. Being from... More

Ate dinner here last night and loved it! There was a 30-minute wait around 7 PM but we found 2 open chairs at the bar and sat down immediately. We started with the corn and crab bisque. It was creamy and just the right amount of spicy. For dinner we had the Whiskey Bay Flounder and the blackened catfish. Both... More

I was traveling alone and had dinner at the bar. The service was attentive & friendly. My meal was very enjoyable. I ordered their ribeye steak - which is probably not one of their signature dishes - because I had been eating seafood all week long. It was not what you would get at a top steakhouse, but a notch...
