I broke up a 12-day gastro-vacation to New Orleans a road trip up to Baton Rouge and Lafayette. The tour books and even several culinary tour guides back in Nawlins recommended the Blue Dog Café. I was not disappointed. I tried the grilled shrimp remoulade appetizer, which came with six very tasty large shrimp with sauce on a small salad... More

Went in for dinner, the ribeye was cooked perfect. Service was outstanding. The rolls and garlic butter excellent. Being from Texas I'm used to hospitality, they set an example to be followed by all!! 5 gold Stars.

Tonight we went to Blue Dog Café. It’s always good but tonight was an exception to good. It was nowhere near good….. IT WAS AMAZING!!! This was the best meal I’ve ever had at the Blue Dog Café, and I’ve had many. This was the best meal I can remember. Maybe this was the best meal I’ve ever had in... More

I was seated in the back room with only three other tables occupied. I waited, and waited. No on came by my table. A group of 4 was seated and three servers hovered over them. The were being served their drink orders and no one had even come by my table. I walked to the front and asked for the... More

A good place for lunch. A very nice restaurant, good and varied menu, good quality food, and good service.

A California gal and a Massachusetts gal walk into a restaurant to find some phenomenal Cajun food. They didn't find it here. Nothing really made us stand up and cheer, although the corn and crab chowder was good. Service was a bit lacking as well. Doubt we will be back....

The food is great here all around, but the Sunday brunch is out of this world. Bring a big appetite and time for a slow afternoon! The food is high quality and truly worth the money. Some of my favorites: prime rib, sweet potato casserole, crawfish enchiladas, creamed spinach, crab cake... and more. Also, the bread pudding here is excellent... More

We were expecting off-the-hook food being in Louisiana and having just left New Orleans. We didn't find it here. Nothing was bad but nothing stood out and everything was over priced for the atmosphere and the quality. Our young waiter was very nice and polite and we enjoyed his service, I must say. There were four of us and no... More

Blue Dog seems to have been relying on the name for too long to get people in the door. Over priced and mediocre food just don't cut it. Maybe it was an off night or a new cook, but I'm pretty sure the only thing on my overlooked hamburger steak was pepper. It was not flavorful, just hot. I was... More
