Description: We may not take ourselves seriously, but we always take our food seriously. Generic is our mortal enemy.A truly American restaurant always has an opinion. At Zea, we state ours confidently, unapologetically and with a little swagger and laughter. Maybe it's our New Orleans roots, but we know good food. And our personalities are as bold as our menu items are flavorful. As with most lovable southerners, what you see is what you get at Zea. That simply tends to be a lot of extraordinary. Go ahead - try anything on the menu. And don't worry; you'll be hungry again in a few days, inspiring you to come back and try something new.

They are somewhat notorious for running out of things toward dinner time, so when your server comes to get your drink order, ask what they're out of before you get your heart set on any one thing. The grits are fantastic, as are the Zea potatoes. Last time i was here I ordered the tuna steak salad & it was... More

This is such a wonderful experience, great food and nice atmosphere. Many different selections to choose from salads, seafood or meat. The side dishes are hard to beat and you will find the corn grits so good. The ribs seem to be a favorite but I had the veal and it melted in my mouth. Service is friendly and very... More

My husband and I went here for dinner this evening May 5th, based on the reviews we read. Too bad, dinner was just ok, for $61 - you think you would get something better that just ok. The drinks were good, though. The service staff was very nice though....

Oh no! I'm so sorry we didn't meet your expectations. We get so excited to hear such great things from our reviewers, but it is inevitable that every once in awhile we didn't quite reach it. I would love to hear more about your experience so we can make sure to correct any problems you had. Can you send a... More

I have written a review of Zea before this visit. This visit was because I had guests from Houston, Texas that had driven all the way to Lafayette to eat at Zea. They were not disappointed and we left very full and well taken care off by the wait staff and bartenders!Management even checked out our table and others multiple... More

Had to wait for awhile, but we had a big group. Was worth the wait though. All of us were pleased with the appetizers & our entrees.

I had the grilled vegetable platter. It tasted like it had been grilled on the pit at home, with char marks and everything, served with their everything hummus. My daughter had a hamburger. I messed that up asking for well done and it was too dry for her. My sister and niece had the rotisserie chicken with grilled sugar snap... More

Perhaps as Vegans, we should have thought twice before walking into a Rotisserie. (We are learning.) :( we ordered dishes that did not list cheese in the descriptions. We ordered The Mushroom panini and the grilled vegetable tray. The vegetable tray came drenched with olive oil, topped with parmasean cheese and mediteranian hummus bathed in oil and feta cheese. I... More

In a town of so much good food this was truly a gem. Go with the local flavor which you can’t get anywhere else. You will instantly recognize these items on the menu. I chose the roasted veal which was a special that day. It reminded me of dishes I have had in Bavaria as a kid…..very good. The staff... More

Corn Grits with everything! Thai Ribs, a must have! The servers aren't prompt sometimes to their tables, drinks and etc. The tea is often watery. Overall the food is worth going there for. The manager Moki,(Hawaiian one) is great

Worth the wait. Lucky that a couple was leaving the bar area when we arrived. Bar tender was very nice. We told him this was our first time dining at Zea's. He welcomed us and suggested excellent entrees. The wait staff was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu items. I had succulent and crispy duck complimented by a great Pinot... More
