I finally got my lazy behind out of bed to get their breakfast this morning. Only had the biscuits and gravy and a side of smoked sausage, but that was plenty and it was really good washed down with the entire vacuum pot of Mello Joy coffee! Yes, there's a vacuum pot on your table.

First things first: the ladies' room - dirty. Ick. There just isn't any excuse for this kind of thing. I had a really good omelette with tasty (albeit small portion of) potatoes, and what appeared to be home-made bread. Very friendly wait staff. Alas, my companions, who ordered from the cafeteria side, found their meals only so-so. I didn't taste... More

I always give things a second chance. I returned and tried the beignets which were much better this time, light and fluffy like they should be, though still a bit over priced. One order of 3 costs $3.50. The bakery next store has them for 60 cents each. My son and I had breakfast while there which was delicious and... More

My hubby & I were in Lafayette celebrating our 2 year wedding anniversary. We passed this place one too many times. We gave it a try for breakfast on our way home. We're glad we did!!!! Love, love, love the coffee!!! Breakfast was delicious, like my grandmother would make. We'll be back again.

I only got to experience some courtboullion here but am reviewing it as I do not want anyone to miss this place! It is a small "Mom & Pop" place but certainly a place that locals deem as "good." I love the local ambiance and the antique-ish tie to the past with the coffee. A packed place--if it is packed... More

We have been in the Lafayette area for 3 weeks and for some reason had not noticed this quaint restaurant for breakfast. We noticed it today and very pleased we did. Have an outstanding menu in a good atmosphere. They also serve lunch, and their menu for that meal also looks very enticing from their specials to the menu items.... More

Stopped by to pick up some Beignets for breakfast on a Sunday morning. The place was packed and I placed my go order for 1 serving of beignets and a cup of coffee. Took them home and was disappointed to find 4 skimpy little beignets. To top it off they were $3.50 and not too good. They were not light... More

In the interest of full disclosure, this review is based on one soufflé cup full of catfish courtbouillon that I ate while participating in the Cajun Food Tour (reviewed in "Attractions".) That 2-3 bite serving was the best thing I ate during my week in Lafayette. When I go back, I'm heading straight to this place.

Too much food for a little money. Great servers and a cool place (a little loud at peak times). You still get the big container of Mello Joy coffee on your table. The crawfish omelet was great and she loved her brisket omelet. Excellent biscuits, homemade bread, grits and home fries. When they place the plated on the table you'll... More
