Really Cajun Restaurant in Lafaytte

For down home cooking with a real Cajun flair, T-Coon's is a must. BUT, locals love the place so get there early. Lots of food served buffet style (or order while in the line - brought to table). If it's Cajun, it's here. Service on line is pleasant, cher!! And wait staff at table will help as... read more

If you are in Lafayette, you have to eat breakfast at T-Coon's. The wait staff is extremely friendly and the food is great! We eat here every time we are in town.

I had lunch at T-Coons and throughly enjoyed the baked chicken, Jambalaya , fresh baked bun and veggies, the chicken was amazing. Although you walk up and pick what you want buffet style we had a server look after us once we were seated, she made sure we had everything we needed and was back to our table often with... More

I am NOT a fan of cafeteria style serving but T's is an exception. Never been disappointed here. Fried pork chop is raised to an art form here. Rice and gravy is just like momma used to make, jambalaya is authentic local recipient not the touristy stuff with tomato sauce you get in some tourist traps! The smothered Lapin (rabbit)... More

Love this breakfast spot! Always awesome! Always get sweet potato pancakes with the smoked sausage and coffee and maybe beignets. I. Love. It.

Had the opportunity to bring two families together during Dec. graduation. Ours and my son's roommate's family. We met for breakfast and the staff made the necessary room to accommodate us. I had a sweet potato pancake with pecans that was out of this world! Being a transplanted southerner in Nebraska, anytime I can find good old southern food, I'm... More

I asked for a recommendation from the locals for a place only locals know about and this is the place they sent my wife and me. She has issues with spicy food and was reluctant to indulge is the local fare. I, on the other hand, jumped right in. We got there close to 2 PM, which was closing time... More

I've been going here off and on for 3 years but it is just not the same any more. The food is inconsistent and the service is just marginal. You can tell by the reduced numbers of locals that it is not the same. Now I just go for fast food breakfast.

I had breakfast of eggs, grits, sausage. I thought the sausage was a little off beat but perhaps just a local preference. I guess I would recommend bacon instead. Servers were nice and friendly.

Great Cajun. Give it a try. I had the courtboullion which is a roux-based catfish stew somewhat like a gumbo. Rumor has it that the owner catches his own catfish to get it right.
