Several workers in the kitchen were sporting large ugly untrimmed beards which were not protected from the food by nets and the head guy had one too! YUK! Food was mediocre and served over an hour after ordering. Everything on the menu is heavy, nothing light and extremely over-priced. So disappointed as this WAS a favorite of mine.

Excellent menu and excellent service. The Sea Bass I ordered was cooked perfectly and the presentation was high quality. Cocktails are on the money and the selection of Bourbon was outstanding. A bit on the pricey side but well the money in my opinion. Wonderful bread pudding dessert dish and I recommend asking for Mike as a server. Very attentive... More

The service was great and so was the atmosphere but our food was terrible. I ordered the shrimp and chorizo meatball pasta. It's was so salty I could hardly eat it. We were with a large group and on a tight schedule so I didn't have time to send it back. The chorizo meatball was just gross. It almost had... More

I was a fan of Charley G's until recently when we were served a disappointing, really embarrassing dinner. Two guests ordered an appetizer gazpacho soup highly recommended by the server. Several minutes later he informed us that the soup was not available. Then we changed to another appetizer, one I had previously enjoyed, coconut shrimp. Regrettably, it was not coconut... More

Had a delicious meal on a Friday night. A guy was playing piano in the bar and our table was close enough to hear it. Dinner was the fish special - twin tale fillet with a butternut squash puree, roasted brussel sprouts and topped with crabmeat. It was even better than it sounds! Just don't ask for the cheddar cheese... More

We stopped here on our way from Baton Rouge home to Houston. Waitress was super nice and the restaurant was very clean. We had the coconut shrimp appetizer, the crab cakes and the chorizo and shrimp pasta from the lunch menu. Definitely worth the detour off of I-10!

This was my anniversary and well worth the trip. I made reservations a week in advance. We were greeted at the door and made feel welcome. Our waiter and the rest of the staff made it a very nice evening. Everything was excellent. Thanks Charley G’s High AAA 's

Before you even open the doors of the restaurant, you are greeted by the scent of the wood used in cooking the wonderful dishes. The ambiance is enjoyable and the wait staff is excellent. I would definitely recommend this one!

I'm not certain what all the stellar reviews are about as we visited this restaurant and found it to be average at best. I ordered the sampler which included brie, crab cakes coconut shrimp and spring rolls. Everything was nice and served quickly. My husband ordered the soft crab special which included spinach and roasted tomatoes. We each had dessert... More

Stopped by for an afternoon drink and snack. The bar area already had a few groups of people around 6pm on a weekday but we managed to get 2 seats at the bar. Had a pianist playing for a short time. The male bar staff were efficient but not very friendly. They also seemed green to me when I enquired... More
