A great dinner in an old Louisiana Plantation atmosphere

From the minute you walk in to Cafe Vermilionville you feel you have entered an old Louisiana plantation. The walls look like they have been freshly mortared with brick and wood supports. From your table you are able to look out onto a beautiful garden area. The atmosphere is quiet, relaxed and... read more

Had a new waitress who was very inattentive. Three of the four of us were disappointed in the food. One of the fish dishes was dry and only warm. My filet was supposed to be stuffed and wasn't. Also served warm, not hot. My husband ordered the same stuffed filet, medium rare and got it well done. He waited for... More

I had to present a lecture and the meeting room was great and the staff was attentive and very accommodating. The appetizers were great as were the salads and my filet was succulent and just the right amount of spicy.

Service and food was wonderful. Not a Cajun type restaurant but excellent with touches of creole and Cajun. No dancing, no band. Just relaxing good food. Dessert is always a question for me. If you go here. You must get the dessert.

We walked to this restaurant from the Pinhook Hilton as it was the only decent place around. We weren't disappointed. Lovely building, professional staff and great food. Not cheap but worth the extra. Particularly liked Cajun Sharing Starter.

An historic house set back from a busy highway. We were advised to book but in fact for the whole of our time there they only had 3 tables occupied. The menu is not extensive but is imaginative which I prefer .The wine list is quite long but lacks the variety we are accustomed to in the UK.We both started with the... My husband and I went to Lafayette to go to a concert and this meal was the highlight of our trip! We called around lunch to make reservations since the reviews said reservation recommended and to our surprise we got a table right next to the fireplace! From the outside this looked like an older home but as you walked... More

We try to dine here everytime we're in the area. Love the quaint atmosphere, attentive staff and delicious food. We had the turtle soup, crawfish beignets and Louisiana crab cakes, then toured the herb garden out back; love the cypress doors, floors and fireplace trimmings - all original. Would definitely recommend.

According to TA reviews, one of the top 10 in Lafayette. Well deserved ratings. Café is in a historic building, dining rooms are very comfortable, service was very good, and the food was excellent. My Turtle Soup was very good as was the fish main course.

From the setting to the tour by the owner it was a lovely experience! The setting is a well maintained, quite dining experience. The wait staff is well versed and well trained in making the diner feel confident in their choices, thank you Max! The turtle soup, grouper, and quail were wonderful! The desert was outstanding! A very enjoyable 39th... More
