I was born and raised in Texas so when I review a Mexican Restaurant - it's tainted by that fact. You just can't beat Tex-Mex from restaurants like Ninfa's or The Original (Ft Worth). The problem with most Mexican restaurants in Louisiana is they have awful hot sauce or they use tasteless white cheese in their cheese enchiladas. La Paqua... More

Wow! I was surprised at how much I liked this restaurant! I went here because La Fonda's was closed (I love La Fonda) and I was delighted with my dinner! The avocado dip was delicious!! The pupusas were fabulous!! I ordered mine filled with beans and cheese, and what a comforting dish! Love this!! I also ordered the cheese enchilada... More

My husband and I are OBSESSED with Mexican cuisine! We are constantly trying new restaurants hoping to hit the culinary jackpot. La Pagua is it! This place is the real deal. The menu has something for everyone, from (what I would call) basic Mexican staples like nachos, fajitas, burritos, to authentic tacos (al pastor, barbacoa, lengua, etc.), huevos rancheros, and... If you want a family owned/run/head chef type of mexican cuisine restaurant stop here. I feel as though it should be featured on the diners, drive ins and dives. I could see Guy Fieri back on the kitchen taping a show. I always get the enchiladas on my first visit to a mexican place. I rate them on that for... More

Tried one of the few Good Mexican eateries in Lafayette & was surprised at the quality & authentic Mexican dishes at this establishment Worth the stop should you be in the area. Not cheap but they make up in the portions & taste as this would be the final outcome when parting with $10+ for the average meal. This is... More

A friend of our who lives in Lafayette brought us here. He goes there a lot and we enjoyed it very much. Their drinks are good espically the margarita. They have a wide variety of food to chose from, the trio is very good little bit of every thing on it.

After reading the 22 reviews that came before mine I knew I had to try this place. Of the 22 reviews, 8 of them talk about how “Authentic Mexican” the food at La Pagua is. Using the Culinary definition of authentic food, ["Authentic" usually means it is something that has been prepared traditionally in Mexico usually for 50 years or... More

FRESH, authentic Mexican food! I would say the best Mexican Food in town hands down!!! We didn't know about this restaurant until we saw the gathering outside one Saturday evening. The Verde' Sauce is from scratch I would have to guess(you have to ask for it and then they will bring it to the table). Great chips and salsa(best in... More
