Friends and I went here for lunch on a Sunday around noon. This was our first time visiting the French Press. We waited for a table for about 30 minutes (reasonable) and were served pineapple mimosas from the bar while we waited. We noticed around 12:45 pm that the crowd let up some and people were walking right in and... More

We brought out of town guests for what we thought would be a nice brunch. We checked in and waited quite some time until a table for 4 became available. It sat empty for several minutes until a couple came in and were seated immediately. No explanation was given and I'm certain I will not waste my time attempting to... More

This place is small on space but big on great food and fun details. The motif is a mix of leather and dark woods with raw iron beams and peeling plaster. It may sound odd but it it really well done. The menu is a delightful southern offering; the boudin ball biscuits were a wonderful appetizer. Country fried steak and... More

Lovely little restaurant that is easy to pass by just across the Square in downtown Lafayette. Great variety of unique entrees and sandwiches. Very nice atmosphere without being stuffy, knowledgeable wait staff and prompt service. Our group of four each enjoyed something different, although we shared an appetizer for the table. We would certainly recommend it for lunch or dinner,... More

Come to Lafayette for the French Press. The best food ever in America. These people understand cooking. And for what we had, all perfect three courses, plus a Cal SVB, $88 was ridiculous. Grace our waitress was informed, helpful and charming. A political science student she may yet become President. The walls and ceiling are distressed as this is the... More

True, we also waited quite long. But this was a really special breakfast, obviously cooked from scratch and the eggs perfectly poached. So, if you are ready for something hearty, spicy, just delicious, go for it! You won't need to eat the whole day ;-)

My husband and I went to the French Press for breakfast. We had no idea that it was going to take up most of the morning just to get our breakfast. By the time our food got to our table I was ticked off because of the extreme wait. The food, however, was wonderful! I had the Acadian Sandwich and... More

I have listened to friends that I go to Festival with every year brag about this restaurant many times. This year I decided to go with them and see what all of the praise was about. Praline/Candied Bacon, that about sums it up. This is pure pig candy that just made the morning after a day of excess better. I... More

We were in Lafayette for a rally and a friend of ours told us of this place. It feels like a very high end restaurant but has a cosy atmosphere. White linen on tables and nice place setting. The staff is very nice and very informative of special and what is on the menu. Their menu is little different then... More
