Wonderfully creative twists on cajun staples, like gumbo served over grits. The Baby Breezus appetizers are a must, fantastic combination of fried boudin, bacon, and tabasco infused honey...Yummy! Fun place to bring out of town guests.

Lafayette has great restaurants but few that offer inventive, unique food. French Press is one of those few and it is excellent! Dinner is not inexpensive but is worth it, especially for a special night out. (Breakfast and lunch are quite reasonable.)

This was an excellent place for breakfast. The Sweet Bresus was excellent, the flavor was unlike anything we had ever had before and I high recommend it.

There was nothing particularly good or bad about the food; it was completely unmemorable. I had the granola with fruit and yoghurt which was OK but I was a bit surprised that the yoghurt was flavoured with vanilla. A plain yoghurt would have cut through the sweetness of the granola better. My husband's breakfast sandwich was quite nicely done but... More

This restaurant came "highly recommended" by a friend of a friend. Truthfully, I expected more and was disappointed. The food was adequate but tasty. We traveled from Beaumont Tx (about 1-1/2 hours) to get my taste of Cajun style food. I guess we should have travelled the three more hours to New Orleans. Lesson learned! I will give it another... One of the best brunches I have ever had. Sweet Baby Breesus!!! (How I feel about it, also the name of an amazing item on the brunch menu).

This is the place for a great breakfast/brunch experience. I had the Sweet Baby Breesus and it does not disappoint! I love the atmosphere and the service was very good. This is a must stop when visiting Lafayette. You will be glad you did.

All in, all good. Just be aware it is noisy due to the hard walls and floors but other than that, go,go,go!!!

Very rarely go out to breakfast when I visit my old stomping grounds in Louisiana...but we recently sought out a breakfast experience and found our way to The French Press in Lafayette. The only complaint was that the signage was not visible enough if you did not know what you were looking for...but the food certainly made up for our... More

Today was our first visit at The French Press. We went for breakfast and, after eating our food, admitted we wished we could stay for lunch. The atmosphere and menu blend seamlessly. Rustic with a touch of chic. I ordered the Sweet Baby Breesus, a buttermilk biscuit slider with crispy bacon, a smashed fried boudin ball, and Steen's syrup. OH... More
