Touristy but good and fun

The inside is very well decorated, something like you'd see at Disneyworld. The food is good, authentic Cajun. I got the blackened catfish with etouffe which was excellent, my wife the eggplant (not so good). The band make it a fun atmosphere. Great place to stop if on the road as it's close to... read more

Mu husband and I were traveling through Lafayette and a friend suggested we eat at Prejean's. The food was good, but nothing exceptional. They had a live band, which was rather loud, but the decor is rustic and fun. We weren't that hungry, so I ordered a side salad and we split the crawfish Etoufee. The etoufee was good, but... More

Stopped here on the way home. Ordered the chicken and sausage gumbo for appetizer. It was dark, rich and very good. Should have stopped there and had the bowl for the whole meal. Ordered the crab extravaganza for the main course. Hugely disappointed. Crab au gratin was acceptable because I was starving, but every thing else uneatable. Crab cake was... More

Overall good, but seafood gumbo was a bit too spicy. And I like spice and am from south Louisiana. I like spice but I also like to taste my food. Gumbo is a dark roux, known for Southwest LA area.

If you chose one restaurant to eat at in Lafayette please don't let this be the only one. The food is fantastic but it's a nasty tourist trap. It's like something out of a Disney inspired nightmare. Call me a stick in the mud but I don't think nice restaurants should have a gift store or a tacky webcam on... More

We come here EVERY time we are in Lafayette or just passing through!!! Sometimes there's a long wait, but it's worth it. Great atmosphere. There's usually a Cajun band playing in the evenings. HUGE portions. My husband always gets the shrimp platter, my son get the seafood platter, & I always get the shrimp stuffed with cheese & wrapped in... More

Prejeans is supposed to be a great well known place to eat. Well that may be true but if you have eaten seafood before you should know what it should taste like. My husband and I were NOT impressed. We ordered the oyster appetizer(6 pieces) and seafood sampler. The oysters were not cooked correctly and greasy. The sampler came and... More

Very nice establishment upon arrIval, staff super friendly. The crawfish enchiladas were very salty and quite dry. Sweet tea was excellent. Crawfish Étouffée was just okay. The $50 spent on both meals was too much.

Arrived just after 5 to avoid the crowds. I had the shrimp gumbo, which had a bit of an odd fishy taste. I also had the seafood stuffed mushrooms appetizer which was really good. My husband had the chicken and sausage gumbo which had more of a sweet flavor and I would have preferred that, even though I love shrimp.... More

My favorite Cajun Restaurant!!. Live music with local bands and great Cajun food. You will feel right at home like the mostly local crowd the frequents this Gem as soon as you sit down.
