The good is that it is fairly well located off the interstate for travelers. I have been there several times with friends/associates from out of town. The food is average with decent service. The main issues that I have are the overall value and the atmosphere. The food is priced high for the quality. The atmosphere is typically very loud... More

I was born & raised in New Orleans (best "Creole" Food), but I drive 2 hours to Lafayette, La. when I want authentic "Cajun" Food.

Today I was just passing through the area around the lunch hour & decided to check this highly acclaimed establishment for a quick bite. The weather was wintery,so I had Gumbo on the brain & whenever the menu was presented, the choice on the different variations were difficult.I decided to go with a "Soup & Sandwich Combo" that had Seafood Gumbo with... First off, I am a Cajun. This place is a tourist trap with mediocre food. This isn't good Cajun fare. You can find better Cajun food elsewhere at much better prices. Steer clear of this place.

Have tried the half & half at Don's & Blue Dog. Prejeans win hands down. Blue Dog is second, Don's not even a contender. The fried crawfish in it are good size, the sauce spiced to perfection. Was a little sad I'd waited 3 visits to town to go there.
