This place was on Guy's Triple D and did not disappoint! I had one of the best Shrimp Po-boys ever. The bar had bar stools that looks like different legs, they are so cute. The service was very good and extremely friendly. You got plenty to eat for a good price.

y thoughts on the place...great dive bar with awesome food. Thursday Special was See-Food Dinner with Fried Shrimp, Fried Oysters, Fried Catfish & Gator Sausage for 10.75 ($6.00 savings from regular menu). We started with an order of Cheese Fries, then the two of us split this ginormous platter. We upgraded to sweet potato fries and added another side salad.... More

Stop by for a beer or a few. Eat, the food is excellent. I've been there at lunch time and supper time and have never been disappointed. We normally sit outside at the tables (in a rather unattractive parking lot), as we are outside folk. This is great for beer. One can always walk across River Road and climb the... More

Rivershack Tavern has become our favorite go to place for boiled crawfish. It is seasoned and cooked to perfection. Other menu items have all been good, but we always end up wishing we had just ordered more crawfish. It is served two days a week for a limited time period (till they run out) so we go early. The atmosphere... More

This was the first restaurant that had been featured on Diners, Drive-in, and Dives that we had the opportunity to try and we weren't disappointed. The building lives up to it's name... it is a bit of a shack hidden behind the levy next to the river. But once inside, one finds a funky little bar that has a collection... More

Everything on the menu looks appetizing and I have never had a meal from the Rivershack that I could complain about. Daily specials run out fast as locals know to get there early or put their orders in early. Seafood is fresh and can be expensive so check on prices if ordering by telephone for take-out.

A few years ago, after seeing The Rivershack on DDD we stopped in for lunch while passing through and had great lunch so we decided to go back last weekend while we were in New Orleans. We hit the lunch crowd of blue and white collar eaters. Although Barbra our server was busy she was friendly and very efficient. She... More

I've eaten at Rivershack many times and have always had a great meal. Yesterday I had the big 1/2 pound burger with sweet potato fries. Both seasoned perfectly, hot and delicious. Funky décor, more a bar than a restaurant, they have live music some nights. Great service, friendly and good waitresses.

While traveling we like to try restaurants seen on Diners, Drive ins and Dives. For the first time I was very disappointed. After waiting for over 25 minutes for a waitress,(only one on a Sunday evening) I couldn't believe my eyes. The sandwich wasn't even 1/2 inch thick. On plain rye bread from a supper market was a small amount... More

I grew up in NOLA and read all the rave ratings for this place so had to try it. Over Hype! Yes, it's got a nice open bar room feel and low priced food with Foodie Hype ratings but sorry, it's a Bubba Gump experience at best and NOT Authentic NOLA great seafood. Go to buck town, or go uptown... More
