We used to enjoy going to Big Al's every time we were in town. Our most recent visit was not as good. Our service was not as good and food quality has decreased significantly. The sweet tea was good though!

After touring Ardoyne Plantation we rode into Houma to eat t Big Al's Seafood Restaurant. It was busy and the wait was only (a fast) 10minutes. I always get the fried oyster po boy, excellent. My husband got the shrimp po boy. We decided to try the side order of hush puppies, excellent... The menu has everything from gumbo

Great place for a group to go and share some southern treats like crawfish and alligator. The portions are huge and the atmosphere is very laid back. I enjoyed the shrimp, crawfish, crab fingers and left completely full. Don't expect a fancy place or high end anything. This is comfort food to get your fingers messy and mouth watering. If... More

Nice local place to eat, the food was good but not hot. They were quite busy but that should not be an excuse for room temperature food. We did enjoy the localness of the restaurant.

I have eight at big Al's multiple times. Both in parties of 2 and parties of 20. I have found that it is NOT A GOOD VALUE. The food quality is excellent. But I have found that compared to other great quality restaurants in the area, Big Al's is extremely expensive.

Not sure why I keep coming back. Oh yea, it's those darned onion rings. They are excellent, especially if you get them a little extra crispy. I also had the fried catfish plate. The fish batter is prepared with too much black pepper; it is the dominant flavor. One piece of fish tasted bad. The fries were awful. Poor quality... More

This is one of those seafood places with no frills, just hefty portions of mostly fried seafood. They do have a couple of non-fried items, so I ordered the blackened red fish with a side salad and stole several of my son's french fries. I started with the turtle soup. This was ok, not the best I've had. My husband, son... More

Enjoyed the dinner. I had the blackened red fish, cooked perfect, huge potato salad for side. Cat fish fillet's great too. A bit crowded though the night we went. We got our food served but, had to wait for kitchen to finish cleaning more silverware!!

Not one a my favorite places to go but the food was alright. The food was rather spicy but that was just to me.
