Still hanging on, this could be a gem again

We've gone to Trey Yuen for decades. As you can see from recent reviews, even the locals are surprised at the direction it's heading. We went yesterday with an out of town relative. We had to go find our waiter more than once for drink refills. Yes, actually get up from the table, walk around the... read more

In the past we would drive from Mississippi to eat here but we were there for meeting and decided to try it again. Haven't been in years and frankly the reviews had me frightened but what other options does Hammond have? Not much. Desmond was a very knowledgeable and friendly server. A bit slow on the soda refills but overall... More

I had dinner here and was sorry I did. Nothing we ordered tasted good and I love Asian food. Service was not up to par either.

We stopped here passing thru Hammond around 2:30 yesterday. The place was empty, we were seated all the way in the back in a dark room by a window, no atmosphere whatsoever. The egg rolls were hard leftover and rewarmed. The Lemon chicken and Boneless chicken dishes were overflowing but that did not make up for the lack of taste.The... More

Trey Yuen is an icon in Hammond. The Wong brothers have dedicated their lives to creating original cuisine with a fusion of local ingredients blending with their extensive knowledge of Asian culinary arts. As a food writer who has traveled to China, I have a great deal of respect for their consistency and dedication. My favorite dish is Crabmeat in... More

Service very slow to arrive to table. Mandarin chicken was over cooked plus gravy on side was nothing more than a brown gravy that was flavorless. It was suppose to have crushed peanuts and green onions in it. To say the least nothing was in it. Waitress offered to take it back to kitchen to get a new bowl of... More

This use to be the "go to" restaurant in Hammond. Everyone loved it and some traveled long distances just for the wonderful food and delightful atmosphere. BUT, in the past few years it seems like it has really gone to pot. The food is barely average, the service sloppy and the restaurant is pretty dirty. I want my old Trey... More

For most of my childhood Trey Yuen was seriously the jewel of Hammond. It was always exciting to go eat here. Had countless family members work there and they always loved it and busted their butts. Don't know what's happened over the years. Food used to be impeccable. Maybe it's the lack of management over the years. I know Joe... More

Been going to Trey Yuen in Hammond and Mandeville for years but was disappointed in the condition of the restaurant in Hammond. While I didn't dine in the main restaurant but in one of the back private rooms for a birthday party, it was apparent that the building needs a facelift. It started to rain heavily while we were there... More

My shrimp in lobster sauce arrived in a gel brown "sauce" instead of a white egg sauce. My first spoonful revealed a nasty hair. Sent it back with college kid posing as a waitress. Ordered a second dish, which was brought out well after everyone at the table quit eating. The manager never came to our table. When we asked... More
