well used to be great years ago, recently and recent past, not so great. Had fish last time I was there, it definitely was not fresh. The veggies were over cooked, the salad limp from heat.

When it comes to restaurants in Hammond, Jacmel Inn is a diamond among lesser jewels. Housed in a an old , stately structure of a southern home, Jacmel has a homey atmosphere. The food is top notch as is the service. I'd say the style of the offerings range from Cajun/Creole traditional to perfectly prepared American classic comfort foods. Be... More

Jacmel Inn is a classic dining experience, great for special occasions. It is pricey but the food and atmosphere are both terrific.

This restaurant is very good with pricing, taste of food, wine listings and atmosphere. Even though I eat at many places in New Orleans, this is one of my favorite places to frequent!

We have enjoyed this special place for more than 30 years. We went twice last week and had excellent meals on very cold nights. They have such a warm and romantic atmosphere with many fireplaces. The service was better when it was just my wife and I on Wed. On Friday night we ate with a larger group of 8... More

Simply the best restaurant in Hammond. Try the fish of the day, surf 'n turf, or any one of the salads. Make sure to ask for the house dressing when they bring you the bread.

The bar serves excellent drinks, thanks to Chance, the bartender. In fact the bar crowd has grown lately. Not so much the food. Even with only a handful of tables or less, why does the appetizers and entrees come out to the table cold to barely lukewarm? For $35 an entree I don't want to be served the lower tail... More

Is was good but not great. The bread they served was burnt. My steak was not cooked to order. Salad was just so so. Wait staff great but food was just ok.

Took my girlfriend to celebrate being together one year. both had steaks and we were both very satisfied. She likes hers medium while I prefer Medium-rare and they were both perfect. Also our glasses never got close to being empty.
