Our food was just average, but a great stop after a visit at houmas house plantation. Our Haitian waiter was excellent with my french speaking guests and gave us excellent service. As a New Orleanian, I was disappointed in being served a cold roast beef po boy and had to ask for gravy.

The Cabin Restaurant is easy to locate on the junction of Highway 44 and Highway 22. However depending from which direction you approach it, it may be hidden from you either behind lush greenery or a car park, so keep your eyes open. It's a restaurant, but you could say it's a museum as well. You enter thru a general... More

Place is horrible. Nothing fresh about it. Everything was previously frozen you can tell. I tried to rate them on Facebook and they deleted it obviously trying to hide their shortcomings. Just choose another place to eat.

I live very nearby this restaurant. Have tried it many times through the years being that it is so near. Every time we tried, my husband and I put it on our "Never Again" list. They serve lots of tourists and I see tour buses stop there. It is embarrassing to think that people from around the country thinks this... More

Everyone was pleased with their lunch in my group. I had the best tilapia I have ever had. The only miss was the cornbread was dry and crumbly. The restaurant is among some of the first slave quarters, so there's an interesting history aspect there that they definitely play up. Service was good.

Had a great first Louisiana meal, in a very interesting locale. Lots of history in the building, with good food, and cold beer. Very original, and would visit again.

This place was a real treat for our family of four (mom, dad, kids 11 and 14). In addition to offering amazing food (and I mean amazing!), the grounds were beautiful, the walls were literally laden with history and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. And to think we almost just went to Cracker Barrel! I definitely recommend trying... More

While staying at Bocage Plantation, the innkeeper suggested The Cabin. The fiord was great, the prices were reasonable and the service was amazing. The place really fit the theme of our trip.

The Cabin is located near Bocage where we spent 8 days while touring plantation in La. The food was very good and fresh. We had Jumbo Shrimp and Catfish. The service was excellent and the history of this place is very interesting. The front of the restaurant is a converted slave cabin. We would recommend The Cabin to anyone who... More
