My goodness! Best in Area Dinner!

I ate here with a group of five people. We all had something different. We all loved EVERYTHING we ordered. The waitress and hostess were lovely both in appearance and waitstaff ability. Best food and dinner setting I enjoyed while in Louisiana.

Our host at the Auberge du Chene Vert (great B&B) suggested Grapevine for dinner. We thought it was a little out of the way and when we got there...we realized everyone that goes out in the parish (county) eats there. Great food, amazing service. We didn't have any reservations (I recommend you make them) , but we were able to... More

Had a great lunch while traveling on business with a local. He did the ordering and gave me a good taste of the local cuisine. The place is interesting with art and the food is good with good service. Enjoyed it.

The guide book recommended this place for it's bread pudding so since it was too early for lunch we went in and ordered just the pudding. It was delicious and and looking back, we regretted not having stayed for lunch, as everything we saw around us looked amazing and tasty. The staff were very friendly and chatty.

The ambience, the food and the service were second to none !!! The restaurant is located in an old building that creates an excellent atmosphere for Cajun / Creole cuisine... The food was excellent and was perfectly prepared and presented. "Tammy" was our server and was excellent !!! She knew the menu and promoted it quite well... It was a... More

My tech-savvy teenage son says to give your favorite restaurants only 4/5 stars, because you don't want them to get too crowded. But it would be an injustice to give this gem of a restaurant anything less than 5 stars. We visited on a Friday on our way back to Houston from New Orleans, after taking a side trip to... More

We had a fabulous lunch at this cafe. Great atmosphere. Delicious food. I would highly recommend eating at this place. I had the crab & corn soup. Very good!! And the grilled shrimp sandwich on a cressant roll.

Cute little historic place. Not a large place but some of the best food I have ever eaten. Prices very good for all the food you get. My husband and I had the chicken breast stuffed with crawfish dressing and crawfish etouffee over the top, mashed potatoes, vegetable, bread, tea for $16.95 each. It turned out to be two chicken... We stumbled across the Grapevine Cafe and we're very glad we did. This is a hidden gem located in the small town of Donaldsonville. Great ambiance, great food, great service. I had the herb encrusted grilled chicken served over angel hair pasta. Delicious. My husband had crawfish pie. Also delicious. The salads are very good. Be sure you try the... More

Went to the grapevine for lunch with coworkers from the area. They don't have a lunch menu so the portions are larger than normal for a mid-day meal as are the prices. Cost for four was just over $100, including deserts. The food was excellent. I had fish of the day (redfish) topped with crab au gratin. It was grilled... More
