On the spur of the moment, we decided to stop for dinner rather than wait until we got home. The Rice Palace advertisement on the roadside billboard inspired us to stop and give them a try. The food here is wonderful and the prices are very fair. The problem is that the casino next door provides a steady flow of cigarette smoke. We had to leave. If you survive you will leave smelling like a piece of smoked ham.

We made our first visit to the Rice Palace on a Friday evening & when in the area, plan on returning. It is a very convenient on/off to I-10 at Exit-80, LA-13 to Crowley / Eunice The menu had a number of good choices but we decided to have the buffet. We wanted to sample a variety. The buffet included,... More

Stale cigarette smoke smell , extremely slow service and clueless staff. I had to find the host to find a waiter after 5 minutes of no one coming to greet us. After placing our drink order it was over 5 minutes to get them. 3 shrimp poboys and 2 cups of gumbo took almost an hour. The gumbo was decent... More

You would not believe that somewhere like this could be found tucked on to a gas station and casino. We read the reviews and gave it a go and were not disappointed, felt at first as if we were fish out of water as the place was filled with locals but soon didn't care as the food was so delicious... Quite a nice find! Service was friendly and efficient. When my husband told our server McKenzie that I wanted to try everything, she offered to bring some samples. But we were able to pick a few dishes without that but it was such a kind and unexpected offer. We split a fried shrimp po'boy, onion rings, red beans & rice... More

This is my third trip to Acadia parish since discovering Rice Palace in 2011, and I go back to Rice Palace every chance I get! We ate there 3 days in a row this time and picked up seafood gumbo to go on our way home. I have tried several things on the menu as well as the chicken gumbo/salad... More

The food her is great downhome Cajun fare. The only problem is he lounge next door. They share ac with the restaurant so you will likely do of lung cancer before you finish your meal.
