Good Food, Excellent Atmosphere

Went here for dinner and sat out on the porch. We had good service and the food was really good. It is a fund place. It gets busy but it is large and there were plenty of open seats. We started with the Boudain Balls and then went with the catfish. They have a large beer selection and the... read more

The Chimes in Covington, Louisiana has a relaxing atmosphere, terrific menu selections, great tasting victuals, a very courteous staff and moderate family friendly prices. What made a huge impression on me was the quality and freshness of some the best darn raw oysters I have had in quite awhile. To put some icing on the cake, the oysters are offered... More

Chimes is my alternative choice when I want a change from the Columbia Street Tap Room. This is the most extensive beer collection on draft and bottles in the area. Service is very good at the bar, people are friendly and the whole restaurant is very nice. Outdoor seating even has a boardwalk to the river. I have only eaten... More

We appreciate that we can get good raw oysters between 4-7, at half price. The beer and drink selection is enormous. However, the restaurant is usually very crowded and very loud. It is fun to go with a group, if you can get a table. Outside, the view overlooking the river is fun for kids. The menu is not that... More

Barbeque shrimp is great but often it is way too salty as are other foods. Love the raw oysters and half price hours.

Two couples met up to eat and have a few glasses of wine. Had the seafood platter, it was just ok, tons of french fries, thin cut catfish and small shrimp for a big price. Wine was good, beers were large. Seated upstairs by a party of 25, very loud, we had to yell to be heard. Have eaten here... More

We went to Chimes for a Gym Reunion for my husband. There were at least 20 people in attendance. For such a large crowd the service was good and the food delicious.

Al at the Clarion told us about this place. We arrived in our Alabama clothes and drew some looks but everything was fine. We were seated immediately and placed our order. My wife got a shrimp poboy and i had raw oysters and gumbo. On Tuesday night they are half off. The food was good and the servers were knowledgeable... More

If you want a place that has great food and a relaxing environment then Chimes is the place for you. Sitting on the back deck enjoying the company of friends or family and enjoying the natural outdoor environment, while having drinks and eating yummy food, can only leave you with a rested and happy feeling when you leave. Would definitely... More
