This was a first visit since the last owners left, we were invited by some friends as we didn't know The Rockingham Arms had reopened.. The place is nicely refurbished, the menu is inviting however the portions are so small, veg are extra, my dish did not come with potatoes , it is not cheap, and the drinks are very... More

Overall the pub has a good atmosphere and the staff are friendly but drinks and food are too expensive, Upham Breweries remember this is a pub not a resturant. We were there on a Sunday lunchtime and it was so quiet I think that says it all!!

Newly refurbed, we thought we'd give the place a try. On the day we visited, Saturday 16th August, the place was fairly empty - tho' it was about 3.00 pm. Nevertheless we were greeted warmly, served promptly and with big smiles from very polite (well trained) girls. The wine and beer selection was excellent. The menu was qute small BUT... More

I had reason to be in the area, as I live on the other side of Southampton. I am sooooo glad I stopped by. Spacious car park at the rear, entrance at the side of the building, good vistas all round. I was welcomed warmly by a lovely young man - where I ordered one of the Upham beers and... More

Although the postal address is Wellow the pub is actually in Canada(!) which is a small village on the very edge of the New Forest. It is a Upham Ales house and had 4 of their tremendous beers on offer along with a wide variety of other interesting drinks. The menu isn’t huge but has some very interesting things on... More

Beer good! Food excellent!! Service fantastic!!! Fancied going ouy for a meal on a Saturday night, chose here as quite local and recently reopened, what a good decision. Staff really friendly and attentive. Menu not extensive but quality of food exceptional (had snails & macaroni with a twist, wife had salmon & rib eye) and although not cheap correctly priced... We had a 2 day break in the New Forest. We came across The Rockingham by chance as it was near our hotel and popped in for a drink on the first day. It is a stunning location and the pub fits in well. Beautifully presented, spotlessly clean and with great atmosphere. We returned on the second day for dinner.... More

Visited recently whilst in the area on business. Recommended by a colleague & I wasn't disappointed. Food well cooked to order & nicely presented. The menu was a little limited but I guess one could argue better to do a small range well than a larger one badly! I chose a fish dish & the freshly caught taste was present.... More

Ok, to start I should declare an interest. I'm a local and the Rockingham or 'Rock' as we locals call it has been my local pub for over 20 years. In that time it's gone from a spit n sawdust pub frequented by bikers to a disastrous gastro pub that went into liquidation. It's newest incarnation is by far the... More

We visited the Rockingham Arms yesterday for lunch. It is in West Wellow near a beautiful area of the New Forest called Canada Common. What a wonderful surprise! We were greeted by friendly, helpful staff and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The choice of real ales was very good and the food was tasty and very well served and presented. I... More
