A bit of a surprise

Menu was a bit limited in scope but what we were served was very good. Had expected a busier pub as it was high summer and in a tourist area but there were only a few eating and drinking here. A little bit pricey but not too high. Only down side was the lady who we took to be the... read more

We cycled to this pub from our lovely accommodation at Penn Farm and had a wonderful meal. We both had the buffalo burger and chips which should be nice anyway but the flavours were outstanding and it was simply the best burger I have ever tasted !

We stopped here for a quick drink whilst travelling to Wiltshire and really liked the modern interior of the pub and received a warm greeting from the young staff members on duty. We were shown quickly to a table and given a Bar Menu and the Set Lunch Menu to study. There was also a blackboard listing the sandwiches available... More

My second recent visit. The first, about six weeks ago was a midweek lunch and they had a very reasonable and inventive menu deal. That deal seems to have been dispensed with, which is a shame. Nevertheless, my son and I enjoyed a couple of pints of Punter with the day's speciality burger, all of which was served with care... More

Nice atmosphere and ambience. The food is ambitious and a bit gastro-pub in character but I would eat here again because it was basically very good food. Service average.

We decided to eat here as it was very close to our B and B. We were greeted promptly on arrival and looked after very well throughout the whole evening. Both the food and service were excellent and the interior of the pub has been refurbished to a high standard. It is also pleasantly situated with a picnic area at... More

Decided to go here for Sunday lunch. We were shown to our table and given menus but had to wait around 20 mins at least before anyone appeared to take our order, and even then my husband had to go to the bar to request someone. There were 3 tables in the restaurant with people on, thats all, so wasn't... More
