I've been eating here since you opened--1965? 1967? In fact, the "last meals" of my dying family members are more likely than not roast beef po-boys we bring them to eat on the bed they'll soon be dyin' in. Now while I know changes happen and you've struggled and risen above a lot of challenging times, please just always keep... More

I love Rocky & Carlos. I have been a faithful patron for many years. The plates offer enough food to feed a couple of people easily if not 3 or 4 in some cases! Even with the gossip about the kitchen I have been undeterred. I would have to say my favorite meal there is the fried oyster dinner or... More

I had fun waiting in line talking to a tourist, who had stumbled upon the place. He said it was his 3rd visit in 1 wk. Food was great, service was decent, prices seemed a little high, $9 for a 1/2 shrimp po-boy. Onion rings were thin and fried golden.. needs a dipping sauce. We left out of there with... More

OK, first off in full disclosure, my family have always loved this place. Over 30 years ago I refused to eat in the place because I said it was too nasty (actually remember sitting in the car while they ate). Well, after Katrina and a fire the place is a sparkling gem compared to what it used to be. The... More

After a long day of fishing we were in the mood for some good grub and lots of it.Our cajun friend put us on Rocky and Carlos's place in Chalmette.I love this place ,it is eerily reminiscent of Spumoni Gardens in Brooklyn,NY,.The food is basic fare with Cajun entrees mixed in and comes in huge portions. The onion rings were a... Rocky and Carlo's is legendary. They came back after hurricane Katrina, and, more recently, after a fire. Their food is great, and the portions are huge! You have to try the macaroni and cheese, roast beef po'boy, and the hamburger steak. It's always crowded and kind of loud and chaotic, but it's because everybody is there.

The menu is big. Many local Louisiana favorites. The half fried chicken takes 20 minutes to cook, but I worth the wait. The meatball and pasta is the best served with a nice light sauce. Whatever you pick you won't go wrong. And, oh yeah, Bark's root beer in a bottle. Wow!

We stayed in St Bernard Paris on a recent trip to the Crescent City and had several people recommend Rocky and Carlos. Everyone also told us we had to try the Mac and cheese. Our party of 7 tried a big variety of the R &C fare on a recent Saturday night. Among us we had fried shrimp, soft shell... More

I have been coming to R&C's for about 35 years. It's still fantastic. You must get the baked macaroni. R&C's is the baseline by which all baked mac should be judged. You can even get it with the red gravy. Real Bruciloni, great po-boys, and much much more. Portions are obscenely large. It's a workingman's restaurant! And, "Ladies Invited!" You... More

It actually looked at little down at heel outside, but we had read the reviews and went in...bit odd inside, more cafeteria than cafe. We had no idea what the procedure for ordering was and we asked - you order at the counter where all the food is displayed and then they give you a number and bring it to... More
