Chez Jacqueline was recommended by some fellow Canadian travelers we bumped into earlier in the day. They recommended this for a true Cajun experience. If you love quirky and off beat places, this is one you will not to miss. While dining outside some tourists glanced and cringed as they went to the 2 restaurants on either side not realizing... Our bed and breakfast included a breakfast from Jacqueline's kitchen and it was wonderful. It is a quaint little bistro style restaurant with a cajun style. Talking with Jacqueline was fun and the food was to great.

Recently, my dad and I were driving around Breaux Bridge, looking for a place for lunch. We planned on sandwiches, but her menu got us hungry for more. Though the service was a bit slow, it was worth every minute. The food was some of the best I have tasted in Louisiana, and that is coming from a foodie.

I went this morning because Café des Amis was packed. The music was good, but we waited for over an hour for completely average food. The table next to ours walked out after waiting for 45 minutes for bignets.

The shrimp and crawfish po-boys are delicious, prepared freshly and made with lots of love. The ladies running the restaurant are lovely and make your stay special. Check out as well the Halloween decoration - spooky and awesome.

Apparently, there is 'special occasion' dining at Chez Jacqueline--by advance reservation only. We were so fortunate, during our last visit, that our hostess and chef, Jacqueline, let us know about her Bastille Day dinner (July 14). Although it was several months into our unknown future, we made our reservations. SO glad we did! This was a magnificent culinary experience involving... More

After reading some of the other comments, makes me wonder if we all went to the same restaurant. This was our 2nd time at Chez Jacqueline's--a repeat visit based on our wonderful culinary experience from the 1st time in November 2012. This time, as the last time, we were greeted and warmly welcomed by the owner and chef, Jacqueline herself.... More

Open on Mondays, sadly Café des Amis is not. Beignets do not have the crust or flavor that Café des Amis does, nor is the coffee good. Our breakfast (eggs Florentine and sides) was pretty tasteless and the owner scolded us for a) having to ask for a second fork and b) not taking long enough to eat breakfast. Suggest... More

We cam upon Chez Jacqueline Restaurant while walking the historic district Saturday morning. We heard what we thought was live music and were drawn in. Turns out they have live music Saturday mornings during breakfast and lunch. An older Cajun woman was playing the keyboard and accordion and singing in a wonderfully french accented Cajun voice. We arrived just as... More
