We went out of our way to go to this restaurant. So glad we did.The restaurant is in a quaint town and has a great atmosphere. The food is awesome. Possibly the best Cajun food that I had on this trip. We stopped on the way to New Orleans and stopped again on our way back. Staff were friendly and... More

Nice place, a bit overpriced (20 dollars for 2 desserts) for what we had, but good experience. In downtown.

cant really add much to previous posts just to reiterate that this is a very atmospheric place to eat, good food, and good service. A totally different experience to what you would get from a chain restaurant. Highly recommended for a real taste of Cajun culture

We brought friends from Australia, first time to US, first time for Cajun food. Cafe Des Amis did not disappoint. I believe we tried every appetizer and finished with an Abita Root Beer Float. Taylor, our server went to bat for us when we realized we were too late for Beignets. How can you experience Louisiana without trying beignets so... More

One of the best breakfasts ever!!! We started with andouille in pastry which was terrific then I had an crawfish étouffée omelette with andouille cheese grits--the best I ever had period!! Very casual atmosphere with excellent service. Also excellent for dinner try the catfish..excellent.

We had a wonderful meal. All four of us enjoyed the stuffed beignet, followed by terrific entrées. The place was comfortable and we had a charming waitress,

Stopped here for lunch on our way to Lafayette. The food was great and the service was excellent. We had the shrimp po boy. The shrimp were fried in a light and tasty batter and served on wonderful french bread. We also had the crawfish cornbread that was delicious. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is... More

Was a local place recommended to us. Food was good. I felt it didnot have enough options for lunch pricing. One soup was great. One soup was average. We enjoyed it being a place where you could have a conversation.

This was a real disappointment. We'd called ahead that morning to confirm opening times for Cafe des Amis and been assured it was open 'til 9pm. Turned up at 7.30pm and it was all shut up and no sign of life. A real pity since we had been looking forward to it. If you're making a journey, check just before... More
