We warned our 5th and 7th graders: "We are going to eat in some places on this trip that will require MANNERS." We arrived at Cafe Des Amis on a quiet Wednesday night and the girls (they don't get out much) were awed by its beauty. The service was excellent and the meal ...holy cow. Everything we had was the... More

My husband and I stopped in around 1:00. We were seated and served immediately. The restaurant was over half full at the time. Megan was our waitress, and she was very efficient and friendly, explaining what we were ordering. We had the cheesecake crawfish appetizer which was our favorite along with the crawfish pie and the crawfish cornbread. We thought... More

We came to the Cajun country for the food and to Breau Bridge for Chez Jacqueline. We ate at Cafe des Amis because CJ was closed on a Wednesday night. I shy away from restaurants that rely on live music and tout their breakfast menu, because food is frequently secondary--CdA is famous for its Saturday morning music sessions. Did we... More

For those who love the cajun zydeco culture, this is the place to be "on a Saturday morning", That's right, you can party at many great dance halls in south Louisiana, but the best place for live cajun zydeco music and a first rate breakfast every Saturday morning, is Cafe Des Amis. A must stop and see for anyone visiting... More

It was a wonderful treat for a Sunday morning with my parents. Food was great, quick service, and great service. We can't wait to come in on a Saturday morning when all the fun starts.

From the moment I was told about Café des Amis I knew that we'd make a special trip there on our recent road trip to Cajun country. Although our visit didn't fall on a Saturday to enjoy their legendary Zydeco breakfast, we still enjoyed our meal on a quiet Tuesday morning. Jordan is excellent. He was quintessentially Louisianne...friendly, courteous, and... More

The Zydeco breakfast here is a national treasure. You sit at communal tables facing a dance floor and band. Whether you love Zydeco music or know nothing about it,(like us) this place is a blast. The music is great, the people on the dance floor ranged from 20-85 and the feeling was friendly and communal. You don't go for the... More

We stopped in on a weekday for breakfast during a South Louisiana motorcycle ride. We were the only patrons, but the staff treated us like royalty. Food was delicious, and service was outstanding.
