Delicious étouffée

We stopped here on the drive from New Orleans back to Texas. The crawfish étouffée was delicious. There was no muddy taste and the sauce was a little bit spicy, which I liked. The pecan crusted catfish was also excellent. Side orders of potato salad and okra were good, but the cornbread dressing... read more

What an interesting place - a rejuvenated garage! The menu provides a good selection, we opted for a pizza which was very good. The only drawback was our server - she must have been a trainee first day on the job without support from a trainer. Too bad.

We visited Café Des Amis for Sunday brunch...They were very short handed but very pleasantly warned the crowd that it was not their best day! We had a great time watching the crowd and so enjoyed every morsel of our Cajun brunch. They have a great dishwasher who can wear many hats and knows how to calmly handle waiting guests.... More

We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! Such history, service, food and atmosphere! Our waiter was excellent! We shared soup, appetizers and dessert! We could hardly walk out as we were so full! We had shrimp and okra gumbo and chicken and sausage gumbo, eggplant wheels topped with crawfish étouffée half and half, crawfish and alligator sausage cheesecake and for... More

If you want to get a taste of cajun cooking, culture, and hospitality, just stop in at Cafe des Amis in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. It is just a few minutes from I-10 and is easy to find. Everything on the menu is great but don't go there if you are on strict low-fat diet. Saturday and Sunday mornings are the... More

Passing through the area and picked this restaurant for our dinner option. Quiet downtown area on a weeknight. We had a great waitress (Desiree), friendly and helpful with menu options. Had to try the local fare (Pasta Des Amis w/Shrimp, Alligator/Crawfish Quiche, Eggplant Wheels. Everything was fresh and tasty! Would definitely go back if in the area.

One of a kind treasure in Cajun Country. Awesome place to go! Great music, food, & people. A "must go" place in Cajun Country. Often lines to get in, so call for hours, and scheduled events to plan accordingly. Love this place!

We came to this area with friends for a few days. This was today's choice for lunch. We had the stuffed fried mushrooms with hollandaise sauce. Excellent. I had pecan crusted catfish filet, dirty rice and seasoned green beans. Catfish was very very good as was the dirty rice. Green beans were a bit salty. Interesting history!
