A group stopped for lunch and got 4 entrees to try, all of the gravy dishes tasted similar but good, heavy on the rice. The fried catfish was good. No leftovers. They do not cater to dining outdoors. If you have a truck, tailgate will work.

Very much off the beaten path, but saw G. Garvin's Road Trip on the Cooking Channel and wanted to check it out. We weren't disappointed. My mama should cook so good...and she was a good cook. Most of the meals are served cafeteria style dished up from a small hot table, but other items available are cooked in the back... More

Food was at the best average. Set in a rural area north of town. If you haven't heard of the place you would drive by. It is pretty run down inside.

This food reminds you of your mom's cooking...except your mom probably never cooked this good!!! I had the smothered pork cops with rice and gravy along with corn and green beans. Wow!! I left full and very happy. The restaurant is in an old house and is a little dreary. But the food is outstanding. The pork chops were cajun... More

We saw this unique place on the Food Channel, and decided to give it a try on a return trip from the New Orleans/Baton Rouge area. Easy off/easy on from I 10. New Orleans has been popularized as Louisiana's cultural base but I beg to differ as it relates to Creole & Cajun Cooking. As unique as NOLA is with Jazz, the French Quarter & Mardi Gras , I believe the true Louisiana cultural base is in Southwest Louisiana with cities like Lafayette , Opelousas , Scott, Crowley, Cane River & of... Stuffed is actually a lightly breaded and perfectly spiced fried chicken done just right. It comes with a side, I chose red beans and rice and two bonus tastes of two other sides. We can't wait to return to the area and this will be on our list for sure. Hours can be a little varied and the inside area... More
