My wife and two daughters landed in New Orleans from Washington Dulles with a goal of meeting Glenda and my wife's dream of giving her some earrings and a shirt after tasting the food. We had seen both G Garvin and others rave about the food. We knew she closed at 2 and called. She graciously let us come in... More

we arrived at 12:50 and were informed that all that was left was pork chops and 1 order of turkey legs. I decided to take the turkey and wife had the pork chops. I asked why they were out of everything and was told that they were getting ready to close and don't like to have unsold food as it... More

We were lucky enough for a local to tell us about Glendas. From her amazing smothered pork chops to her famous stuffed turkey wings, this is a gastronomic paradise. And we didn't know Anthony Bourdain had stopped here for Travel Channel

Saw a story on the travel channel about this place and since we were in the area, we made a special effort to go. Not at all disappointed, great home style cooking with a kick

we ordered BBQ chickens, sausage, and stuffed brisket. the portions are HUGE. The food is delicious. The drive-thru is long, so its better to go inside and order that way. Everything is great.

A group stopped for lunch and got 4 entrees to try, all of the gravy dishes tasted similar but good, heavy on the rice. The fried catfish was good. No leftovers. They do not cater to dining outdoors. If you have a truck, tailgate will work.

Very much off the beaten path, but saw G. Garvin's Road Trip on the Cooking Channel and wanted to check it out. We weren't disappointed. My mama should cook so good...and she was a good cook. Most of the meals are served cafeteria style dished up from a small hot table, but other items available are cooked in the back... More

Food was at the best average. Set in a rural area north of town. If you haven't heard of the place you would drive by. It is pretty run down inside.

This food reminds you of your mom's cooking...except your mom probably never cooked this good!!! I had the smothered pork cops with rice and gravy along with corn and green beans. Wow!! I left full and very happy. The restaurant is in an old house and is a little dreary. But the food is outstanding. The pork chops were cajun... More
