Good Cajun Food

A small shop on the side of the highway, looks like a gas station but inside is a real taste of Cajun food. We sampled lots of items from the menu, and were impressed with all. The fried chicken was perfect, and the red beans and rice had just the right flavor. Fried fish, shrimp, and oysters all... read more

First time having cracklins and they were excellent. Nice feel at home place. You order and they bring your food to the table so the food was hot. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

See my review of The Boudin Shop & Country Store This is a combination restaurant and Country store. They sell all the spices for Cajun cooking plus a set down restaurant.

Coming from NOLA and heading to Houston we stopped in for one last Louisiana dinner; and boy we were pleased as punch. Everything was great, prices were fair and the staff super friendly. The wait was a little long, but it was fine by me. It's the perfect hole in the wall; right on the beaten path.

So good. Had a shrimp po boy with sweet potato fries and a crawfish basket. Both were terrific. Owner was nice and everyone inside was chatty and fun. Happy to have chosen the little local over the chain place at the same exit. Definitely stop here for a local experience and great food.

After 2 p.m. on Sunday, there's not much open in terms of restaurants in this part of the world. The chicken is good, the etoufee is creamy, and the boudin (!) is great. Not much in terms of atmosphere, but locals seem to know enough to call ahead. Love the plastic buckets in the center of each table for shells,... More

This is one of the first stops we make as soon as we get off the plan. The chicken is excellent! Even the locals stop and get it. Throw in some of there biscuits and you have a quick and filling meal.

Must stop when traveling I-10 or in the area. Awesome Po-boys, boudin and everything else you would expect at an Acadiana restaurant near a gas station! My go to is their gator boudin.
