This place was recommended to us by a local and wow did we hit the jackpot. It is cafeteria style in the sense that you choose which meal you would like to eat. I highly recommend the crawfish etouffee and bbq pork. The rice dressing is complimentary yet make sure to grab the potato salad - soo creamy and delicious.... More

You need absolutey no seasonings added to the etoufee or green beans. They are spicy and salty and delicious the perfect combination. It is a cozy environment that seems like all the locals go to as they were packed the entire time we were there but we did not have to wait. It will be a revisit every time we... More

Always plan to eat at Poche's when in the Lafayette, Louisiana area. The eating experience is wonderful, down-to-earth, and "picnic table sitting" delicious! Food portions are outrageously large for not a lot of money. It's always a treat to hear locals speaking Cajun French. They also have a great store to purchase any product you need for cooking Cajun/Creole food.... More

haven't been in Louisiana in 3 years and the first place we went to is Poche's. During the week you order at the counter (usually a choice of 6 or 7 entrees) but on Sunday they put on airs. You sit anywhere you can find a seat on long tables that may sit 20-30 people and a waitress takes your... More

Sunday is out day to relax and pick up Poche's to go. We always get the pork steak, chicken and an extra sausage and enjoy every bite! Our kids visit and request their crawfish étouffée along with many of their other choices.

I've had many plate lunches in the last 25 years of my life of my life. But this place definitely has the best!!!!! When you get 1 plate to go, you get enough food for two people to eat on. If you get it to go you can feel the weight of these plates. Everything is hot and fresh. My... More

Not far off of I-10 and well worth it. Have full plate lunches everyday. Rabbit stew and crawfish étouffée on Tuesdays menu were both very good. Rabbit tasty and tender, étouffée perfectly spiced for a local (usually ppl not from the area don't want it very spicy). With a smokehouse and meat market on site, you can take home any... More

While road tripping from FL to CA we were looking for a suitable place to grab some Cajun food for lunch while passing through LA, and Poche's hit the spot. It's essentially a meat market / smokehouse with a dining room and home cooking in the back (no table service - you order at the counter). The folks were very... More

We stopped for lunch and had great cajun cooking. Friendly and fast service. Shrimp and fish were excellent. Our will plan our next visit for dinner, we will return.

Luckily, I only live a few miles away. The food is always fantastic and plentiful! I'm especially fond of the stuffed pork chops and the meatball stew.
