Based on a local's recommendation, stopped in on a Friday afternoon, around 4pm. Sat at a picnic table. Fried shrimp made it to my top three list of all times - quality of the actual shrimp was top notch, simply prefer a lighter batter. Fries were well above average and of course the Abita Beer was... read more

If you are in the New Orleans area and are looking for piles of local seafood this is the place. The food is plentiful and tasty and inexpensive. Be prepared to wait this place is very popular with the locals. It was a torrential downpour when we went but that did not keep anyone away. The atmosphere is casual with... More

My wife and parents were looking for authentic boiled seafood. From the great reviews we decided this was the right place. We did notice one review saying the food was too salty but disregarded it. We waited 30 mins outside for a table. Beer and drinks are available while you wait. The place looked just like we expected. West Bank... More

We are locals and this is one of our favorite go-to places. My favorite is the soft shell crab sandwich on a bun. My son's is the fried shrimp po-boy and my husband's are the raw and charbroiled oysters. Very reasonably priced. Usually crowded which is a testimony to how good a restaurant can be. No reservations.

Tonight we got the all-you-can-eat crabs, shrimp and crawfish.. It was about three hours ago and I still feel like I'm going to explode. I have to admit that I've never seen snow crabs this size before. Everything was fresh and delicious. It's nice when the crabs come steaming to the table. Check it out if you get a chance!!!

Just wanted to add that this place is worth the 30 min trek from downtown New Orleans if you are in the mood for some good seafood. Had some really sweet crawfish ($4.50 / lb - cheap!!) here - very nice size for late January and boy were they good! Also had the Catfish special with the White Beans and... More

No matter what you like seafood fare. You must come here and eat! If they are standing out the door it will only be a 20 minute wait. They have fried, broiled, and all you can eat! We ate here two out of four days. iI was so good and such a great value! I got the 1/2 and 1/2... More

I looked up a place nearby since we didn't want to go into New Orleans. This place had 5 stars and we chose it after reading about another place that didn't have good consistent reviews. We were so glad to be able to use this service after we had one of the best seafood dinner in our lives. And we've... More

We had the boiled shrimp, sweet potato fries, and shrimp po boy. The food was great, the boiled shrimp was very filling, we ordered a pound and had some left, and we are hearty eaters. Be sure and get the remoulaude sauce when the offer it, it really makes the meal.

This is a family atmosphere restaurant. My wife and I are locals and visit Salvo's often. They frequently have specials on all you can eat crawfish and/or shrimp and/or blue crabs. The menu includes other entrees besides seafood. All is very reasonably priced. My business buddies from all over the US couldn't wait to go back to Salvo's every time... More
