Cannot speak about the seafood boils, steamed or fried platters...My main deal at this establishment is hot fresh, fried, Shrimp PoBoys. Eaten on site or take away...the food is always very good, the staff nice, order at the counter, wait until it is prepared, prices are reasonable. It is a staple in the area, great lunch spot and always good... More

This place has outstanding food. No matter what you eat. Seafood , steaks are anything else. Have eaten in here about 15 times now as I am working in this area. And the food is just great. The service is great. Waitresses are really good and professional. I haven't had a meal yet that wasn't good. Highly recommend this place.... More

We went here and I had all you can eat seafood. Daughter wanted a pound of mussels and wife had shrimp. Daughter had 2 orders of mussels first order not open when opened the mussels would fall apart so returned second order same they did take that off bill. My seafood extravaganza was ok same problem on my mussels only... More

I had the Gumbo, some boiled shrimp and the fried catfish. All were much better than I remember from my last visit. The salad still lacks something to be desired but that is not the main focus if you are choosing to eat here. The fried shrimp were very small and the kids shrimp plate is not a very good... More

6 of us went to enjoy the all you can eat seafood. Which is always wonderful. My daughter - who is a new mom - preferred to order a cheeseburger so her hands would not be a mess if the baby needed attention. an hour after six of us had eaten many refills of crawfish, shrimp, and crabs my daughter... I love Salvos! Local seafood, kids welcome & small town, friendly service. Messy crawfish & crab-eating atmosphere. :)

On a business trip and several folks told us to try out Salvo's for lunch. We knew it was going to be when we pulled in and had to search for a parking spot. The place was crowded and hopping. A lot of carry-out action at the counter, but we were seated quickly. Started with the seafood gumbo and it... More

This typical South Louisiana roadside restaurant, with booths & tables, has no ambiance, but the best oyster po'boy & onion rings I've had in the 35 years we've lived in New Orleans! My lunch of 1/2 oyster sandwich & 4 onion rings, hubby's half catfish & bread pudding was around $30, so not as cheap as some, but worth it.... More

Live in or visiting New Orleans? Worth the trip out to Salvo's for some wonderful seafood. Service great and fast, seafood wonderful!! We've been twice in the past two weeks for the first of this season's crawfish. Shrimp & crab great, too!!

I have been working in New Orleans for pretty much the past 7 months and this is one of my favorite places to eat. The po'boys are awesome and so is the boiled seafood. The price is normal for the area and the parking lot is always full when i go or drive by. Service was always prompt and nice.
