El Magey is Great!

I've been a regular customer at El Magey for over 4 years and have never been disappointed with the food or service. Everything is GREAT! Home cooked food is always fresh and tasty, selection is great and I always leave satisfied. Try the Chile Rellenos and Pork Fajitas.

My 6 year old loves it because he can make his own taco salad, and because they have ice cream and fresh hot sopapillas for dessert. My 10 year old loves the chimichungas. I've tried almost everything on the menu, and it all tastes great. My favorite - I don't even know what it is - it's got pork, onions,... More

After mass, my middle daughter offered to treat us all to lunch at a restaurant. She wanted something reasonably close and inexpensive. El Magey was a good fit. The food was reasonable and good tasting. The buffet selection was really quite good. Flautas, chimichunga, beef, chicken and cheese enchiladas, bbq chicken, grilled steak, pork, and chicken, the usual rice and... More

I've been meaning to go to this place for a long time. I've always heard it was good. We went on a Saturday at around 1:30. I thought it might be too late, but the place was full. The food was excellent. It was all hot, which is not always the case at buffets. There was a great selection of... More

The buffet is their big selling point, but like all buffets, once you've been a few times, you've eaten it all. The menu, on the other hand, is far superior -- and they serve freshly-made pupusas.

Look..okay..the rating options don't give you much choice between average and very good and I don't mean to dismiss this friendly and cosy little establishment as just average. However I will say that if you want something non buffet then order off the menu..it's better. If you sometimes prefer to eat out at a quiet and non pretentious chain restaurant... More

It's a smallish buffet, but the variety is good. You can also ask for totillas and chips and salsa. They also have a few flavors of ice cream, which is nice. The service is pretty good, and the people are nice. Mostly, it's clean. Overall, good Mexican restaurant.

So authentic that you might want to brush up on your spanish. Buffet but good. I don't like buffet style service but continue to come back.

My family like this buffet. Lots to choose from so we can all find something we like. Chicken fajitas, bbq chicken, and black beans are my favorite. Good margaritas too.

I was amazed that one person on TA rated El Magey's a 5 and they had average ratings of 4.0 and 4.5 on Urbanspoon and CityGuide. NO WAY. The only way they can have any rating above a 2 is if employees are family are writing the reviews. I grew up eating Mexican food in west Texas and enjoy the... More
