Great salads

Well known in Baton Rouge for salads and quiche. The location on Jefferson seems to be managed well and offers a friendly staff and good food. I go to LaMadeleine at least once a week and found them to be about as consistent as any restaurant with regard to food service and product. On most solo visits I get a pastry, usually an almond croissant...usually good but sometimes over baked...when my wife and I visit we usually split an omelette or a Country French Breakfast...both good...if... Food is good with lots of choices for soup and salads. Atmosphere is casual. Pastries are delicious. Bread and jam are free.

I tried there 2 half entrees along with a soup. The half entrees were in a pastry and were earlier prepared and under heat lamp. The tomato basil soup which usually is wonderful was not very hot. We did go at noon and were served quickly, but I was not impressed. I recommend you try something that must be prepared.... More

We were looking for something special for my last Drs appt in Baton Rouge. Sine it was near thanksgiving we got petit fours & cupcakes. The Drs office loved us for the delicious goodies. Have been here about 5 times never disappoints. Location is hard to get in and out use caution!

We were there for lunch. The Tomato basil soupe was as good as they say!!! Also loved the French onion soup. Do not miss the spinach pouchette and potato cakes! Salads were excellent too.

I have to say La Madeleine is one of my favorite restaurants! I visit the Jefferson Hwy location weekly, sometimes twice a week. Food is always fresh, potato soup is the BEST! It's sometimes a hit or miss on service..sometimes the entire staff is so friendly and other times they are bothered being there (but that's mainly everywhere). The atmosphere... More

I do like LMFB on Jefferson Hwy. however the location at Perkins Rowe (closer to me) has been a huge disappointment on two occasions. The service was slow, inattentive and unfriendly. The salad was drenched with salad dressing, my husband's meal was suppose to be brought to the table and after 20 min., we inquired about what had happened. Well,... More

Parking is ridiculous at lunch time. If your eating in, your in for a line. I had a spinach salad with chicken. It was fresh and the chicken was hot, but i thought it was a rather small salad for $8.

I have been to La Madeleine on Blue Bonnet in Baton Rouge several times. Although parking is a little tough during lunch time, I have to say the lunch is worth a little inconvenience. The spinach salad is excellent. The pecan/grape chicken salad sandwich is great. The fruit cups are healthy and always fresh. The baked potato soup is awesome.... More
