A must try if you've never been!

Had a great lunch here with some business friends. We were there at noon on a Thursday and the wait was not very long. This is a 'mom and pop' restaurant that really knows how to do Po Boys. Fried pickles are wonderful. I highly recommend the Pecan Smoked Deer Sausage Po Boy. Absolutely tasty!

Wonderful staff.. This restaurant has to be the oldest in downtown restaurant In Baton Rouge! For over 40 years. Poor Boy Lloyd's has offered breakfast, hot roast beef po-boys, shrimp, oyster, and soft shell crab po-boys, steaks and seafood. Live music on Friday nights.

I have had many shrimp Po Boys, including New Orleans and Florida, where I live. This one ranks high on that list. Not a table cloth and silverware kind of place. More like those I visited in NOLA. Lloyd (loacals called him Floyd) was a hoot - very random. I would recommend Lloyd's/(Floyd's??) to anyone. Oh, buy yourself

I'm NOT Cajun. And, like many, don't love Cajun food. BUT...I do like to try certain things. And I love a great sandwich. And what they have here are GREAT PO Boys. So, I had the shrimp PoBoy and the Gumbo (without the rice). And bother were awesome. And my favorite, Dr. Pepper!! Nothing too spicy at all!!! Thank you... More

Parking will cost you. I had the French dip and a bowl of Gumbo. both good. Our waitress Katie was great and very friendly. The owner was a nice guy.

Best PoBoy sandwiches any where, On the river front in Baton Rouge and worth the time to stop, great food and even better service, everyone is your friend and it is run like one happy family. Will go back every time I am in the city. The deer sausage was super and so were the pies and old fashioned root... More

After spending part of the morning at the USS Kidd (which I recommend), we stopped for lunch in the downtown also - at Poor Boy Lloyds - a recommendation of the lady working at the museum and highly rated by TripAdvisor - both well deserved as we thoroughly enjoyed it. The place has been around for 48 years, so they... More

Hubby had a catfish and I had a alligator sausage. Very good - the bread is super. The atmosphere is fun and the employees were friendly and personable. We'd go back when we're in Baton Rouge.

I had read lots of reviews about Lloyd's so I went straight there once I go in town for a beer and oyster po-boy. The beer was fine, large and frosty, but the po-boy was underwhelming, in my estimation. Perhaps my expectations were the problem. Very friendly staff, but the signature item was mediocre.

Basic breakfast. Was hoping for something a little more appealing. Could have gone a few extra steps like sautéing the onions before the omelet and not put in the standard american cheese slice. Was think about going back for lunch, but decided not.
