We did a search on Trip Advisor and found this place. We were passing through Baton Rouge on our way to Florida and wanted some good cajun food. Didn't have time for a fancy restaurant and didn't want anything too expensive. It looked promising. Little hole in the wall near the water. Very nice people and down home atmosphere. The... More

Great southern hospitality, good choice of local specialties which are served in an atmosphere that is so typical for this part of the world and makes you feel home even 4,500 Miles away.

We were in town for a football camp at LSU. My husband and I were driving downtown and stumbled upon Poor Boy Lloyd's and the line to order was out the door so we knew we had to try it. We were very surprise to see the restaurant filled with mostly locals so that made me even more excited to... More

We found this little restaurant right off of I 10 on our trip home. It was packed with locals from the capitol. Very homey and snug. We decided to just try the specials, chicken and dumplings, jambalaya, and the spaghetti and meatballs. Everything was excellent and very reasonably priced. My special also came with an apple pie that was delicious!... More

The food here was GREAT. Make sure you get the jambalaya and the boudin balls. Ms. Mary is kinda slow but she will get your order. Check your order before you leave but other than that the food is good. Right across the street from the hotel. where I stayed. The breakfast is good too. They make homemade biscuits.

We had an great experience here. Totally enjoyed our meal served by an excellent knowledgable staff. Local LA food. Local LA blues band. What a find. We were heading to the Blues Room and found it. As tourists we asked the doorman at the club (which wasn't open for the evening yet) where a good food place was and he... More
