our small group enjoyed a very good lunch meal here in this converted old house. we dined in the small back room which held only three tables, making for a pleasant and quiet meal. the menu offers some classic french items, but does mix in local ingredients, such as gulf shrimp and marsh crawfish... read more

We had a reservation and were seated very quickly. We were offered bread and water soon after we were seated---good mixed drinks followed. Appetizers of artichoke hearts and crab meat were very good and a solid hollandaise sauce. We ordered a rack of lamb and the duck breast. Each was good but both were over cooked---lamb was supposed to be... More

From all the great reviews, I was very misled... I'm not sure if it is what we ordered or not...love the atmosphere...love the bread and love the salad...after that it was all downhill for my husband and I...my veal was dry, hardly any crab meat on top, the fish in the bag was oily and extremely fishy...they didn't have the... This small, secluded cottage has some of the most authentic French cuisine in Baton Rouge. Everything is prepared fresh and from scratch. The owner's wife actually IS French! She's a delightful lady! She will make honest recommendations regarding drinks, and entrees if asked. The prices are extremely reasonable. I took my wife for her birthday with some friends and we... More

The resturant is a cozy little cottage nestled in a park like setting with a mix of Parisian and Southern French style decoration. They offer traditional French cuisine with South Louisiana ingredients. I had a five-course meal with wine. The homemade French bread and Salmon Fume' (smoked salmon served with spicy cream sauce) is something you really should want to... More

We have been dining at Maison La Cour since it first opened in 1986. In particular, we celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary there. We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary there. And this year, we celebrated our 53rd anniversary there. We gave dined there on many other occasions too, but those are the highlights. The transition of the host/chef roles to... More

Continental French gem hidden in suburban Baton Rouge. Service can be a bit uneven at times but the issues have been more due to communication than training. The menu is strong across the board is unique in the Baton Rouge area. The Hearts of Palm salad is simple but with great flavor. Escargots, Venison Sausage are great starters. Flounder in... More

Not all of my review is bad. The decor in the restaurant is nice, and I guess the musty odor should be expected of an old house. The salad was simple and great actually. The recommended wine was good as well. My steak however, was overcooked. I only ate about a quarter of it. The flavor was good, but it... More

It is so nice to go to a restaurant & hear all your party talk. There are several rooms in this old house. We had over 2 hours in a room by ourselves. I enjoyed the escargot & we got the hearts of Palm salad. We had the fish special in parchment & it was excellent. Others had the duck... More

I waited a few days as I wanted to let the experience sink in rather than be rash but the longer I think about the experience, the more disapponted I am. My wife made reaervations for my birthday on Wednesday 8/6 at 7pm. We arrived at 6:55 and waited for several minutes before even seeing someone at the reservation desk... More
