Saturday Night Fever--WoW

Although it was a Saturday night, we only had about a 40 min wait for a party of 8. And, it was worth it. We all had something different, but the food I enjoyed the most was the gumbo, the fried oysters, and gator. They had a variety of LA cuisine to choose from. Everyone tried something new, and... read more

Their Drum Fish with Andouille Sausage & Shrimp Sauce is BEYOND GREAT!! If you like Oysters, we could not keep our eyes off the staff constantly trying to keep up with the escalating orders. This is the place where the locals go to for a great meal.

started with chargrilled oysters, aligator bites, hush puppies and boudin balls. yum. then the half and half stuffed shrimp and catfish was just a bit too much fried stuff in one plate - but super tasty. coleslaw with peanuts is a must. and have I mentioned the cajun lemonade? loved it!

First time here but was pleasantly surprised. A friend was in from out of state and wanted something that was local to our area and this place had great reviews and was close to their hotel. So glad I read the reviews and was guided by those. They didn't let me down. Great food and Great service over all. Only... More

Went in on Saturday and the lot was packed with cars. We were able to get a seat in the bar area. The waitress was wonderful. We started with the crab bisque, boudin balls, and grilled oysters. We also ordered the big seafood platter. We had 2 adults and 2 teenagers. Enough food for everyone. The bisque and gumbo was... More

We are visiting from Alberta, Canada and having a fantastic time savoring all the taste sensations in the Baton Rouge area. We think Parrain's is one of our favorite restaurants. The peanuts in the cole slaw add a unique taste. Loved the bread pudding with white chocolate sauce.

Here's what you do: Fly 5 hours from Seattle. Drive an hour or so to visit great friends who recently moved to Baton Rouge. Settle in, exchange hugs and chit chat for awhile, then jump in the car again to grab dinner at Parrain's. This is some serious LA food. The place is noisy and alive and has great service... More

Very rustic-looking and relaxing restaurant. Waitress was attentive and friendly. Food was spectacular AND very affordable. We would definitely return next time we are in the area.

I just loved the entire experience. We were told we needed to visit this place at least once and we visited more than that. I loved the ambiance and sitting outside. I felt like I was back in the swamps and that is a good thing! The staff was wonderful. The menu allowed us to try many Louisiana foods! I... More

There is always a crowd so you can expect a wait but it is worth waiting for. I've never had a bad meal. The food is delicious and they offer Louisiana seafood using Louisiana recipes. A good place to bring out-of-towners to experience the best food Louisiana has to offer. The ambiance is casual, the servers are personable, knowledgeable and... More
