The good food makes the wait worth going here. Chargrilled oysters are very good. The alligator is the best I have had, the fried shrimp and oysters are excellent, and the paneed and grilled fish dishes are very good. I have had most of the sides and have never been dissapointed.,

I am frequently in Baton Rouge for work and personal travel - I come here most trips. Good all around service and food. Decent bar with friendly staff.

We've been to Parrain's several times but are not likely to return any time soon. The system for seating guests is very poor. The restaurant does not take reservations and it is common to incur a 30-60 minute wait, if you arrive after 6:00 PM. There is no status provided, no apologies and frequently empty tables are observed while the... More

Try this place out if you're in Baton Rouge. It's very reasonably priced for what you get. They have fresh catches served up in plenty of different styles (grilled, paneed, paneed with meuiniere, etc). They have a decent beer selection as well. Service was very fast and friendly. Their gumbo was quite good, though for seafood gumbo it lacked as... More

There are things we liked a lot about Parrains and things we were not thrilled with. Let's start with the good things. The staff there are all very friendly and helpful. They help each other out in taking orders, delivering food when it's ready, filling drinks, etc. The second thing is the Pecan pie with shaved chocolate...Wow it was tasty!... More

Happened to be in town on a Tuesday to find oysters on the half shell are half price. Started with those then went on to a half dozen char broiled oysters which were the best I have ever had the pleasure of eating. And I have had my fair share of oysters. Finished off with a 3/4 pound order of... More

Sundays are a good day, in and of itself, but is made even better when eating brunch at Parrain's. Grits and grillades are amazing. Salmon poach is a favorite of my son's and their soups are creative and delicious. Katie (one of the best managers, ever) makes your visit enjoyable and wanting to return to try other items on the... Traveling though easy access off of I-10. Ate here for the first time a year ago, had a bowl of the delicious corn bisque. Thought we would stop and try some other things. Not so good this time. I had fried shrimp, batter was very thick couldn't even taste the shrimp, no favor. The Coleslaw and hush puppies were good.... More

Sat at the bar with a colleague and had dinner. They have a decent beer craft beer selection and the food was just wonderful. Everyone was nice and the service was great. Will go back again if in the area!
