We try to visit Parrain's every time we are in Baton Rouge. The 1/2 and 1/2 crawfish is excellent. Have not had anything here we didn't like. The onion rings are good, and crab claws and alligator bites for appetizers. Arrive early, or there will be a wait. It is always busy for lunch

On our trip to NOLA, we knew we had to make the trip to Parrain's. We had eaten at Parrain's 2 yrs ago when they were more of a creole cajun restaurant. We enjoyed the flavors and offerings so much, we knew one day whollandaisehave to come back Now it's a predominantly seafood restaurant that serves the same two styles... More

Had dinner recently at Parrain's at the suggestion of desk clerk at our hotel. What a pleasant surprise. Fried shrimp was large, lightly breaded, and delicious. Hush puppies were light, hot and again delicious as was drily rice. We arrived about 5:30 so no wait-but it would have been worth a wait!

My family and I go to Parrain's anytime we are in Baton Rouge. Yes, there is usually a wait unless you are there when they first open or go for an early dinner. The food is "FANTASTIC" as well as the service. Drinks are NEVER watered down!!!! Go enjoy!! The blacked drum and BBQ oysters never fail or the duck... More

Love me some Cagun. A Texan I am and devour my BBQ, but grab Cagun when I can and that I did in Baton Rouge. This is my favorite ever! Ordered the grilled Oysters, unreal. I thought I ordered a 1/2 dozen but they brought a dozen and it was heaven. The blue cheese dressing had gourmet quality blue cheese,... More

The food was vry slow to our table of two - we watched plate after plate of other-people's food go by. We got a lot of apologies - but the food was not what we ordered. We finally got served, the right order but it was too litte too late. As an excuse, we were told there was a New... More

This was a great recommendation from a coworker. We had the grilled duck breast which was cooked perfect. It came with dirty rice which was some of the best I ever had. Husband got the oysters on half shell and also the grilled oysters and he loved it. They have a lot of different beers on draft so my husband... More

As we stopped overnight in Baton Rouge we decided to try dinner here on a Saturday night. It was very crowded (we were told the wait would be about an hour). We went to the bar where we found it was seat yourself and we found two spots at the bar. This was perfect because pre-season football was on so... More

We stopped in for lunch before a meeting which was a big mistake as the food was so good, we were almost late for the meeting because we could not quit eating. The gumbo, fried shrimp, catfish and cole slaw were all excellent. Be forewarned that parking is limited and this place gets very crowded, particularly for lunch.

This is one of the best family friendly, Cajun/ creole style restaurants in town. Nice staff, friendly atmosphere. Nothing fancy, but great food and ambience. Not to mention the chargrilled oysters are AMAZING!!
