We had lunch at the Uncle O’s Café today at 3410 S Sherwood Forest Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA. It is one of our favorite lunch stop. We like their gumbo, whether it’s the chicken & sausage, the seafood gumbo or the crab bisque. Today, I had the hot roast beef po-boy that was loaded and very tasty. We particularly like... More

This was my second visit to Uncle O's on Sherwood Forrest, so I do have some prior knowledge. Much to my surprise the food was delicious and oh my the fried pickles are great. However, with that being said; the day I was in the employees were visiting at the bar type area. Hello? I could hear everything that was... More

Lunch was not the same in Baton Rouge when Uncle O's was closed. Now he finally has a new location on a busy street and the parking lot is absolutely full everyday for lunch. Uncle O's has daily lunch specials that include your drink. The locals have found him and have shown their appreciation by arriving in herds. He also... More

We went into the restaurant not knowing what to expect. Twenty minutes after we arrived, my spouse suggested we leave. Not knowing what could lie ahead, we decided to wait it out. The person working acknowledged they weren't used to waiting on people and had issue finding the menu and taking our orders, but finally got that started. The food... More

Had the chicken and sausage gumbo and it was wonderful. My husband had the Wednesday special of catfish with potato salad and green beans. The catfish was really good. I want to go on a Friday to have the catfish with seafood étouffée have heard that was also great. A little pricey but I will go back for the gumbo... More

We had the Greek Salad and Crab Bisque. The salad was wonderful but, in my opinion, very over priced at $10.95. It was not even very big at least not for that price. The bisque was ok at best. Not very flavorful. The service was horrible even though there are only about 9 tables in there. I was expecting a... More

While planning on traveling trough Baton Rouge on our vacation one of our teenager sons asked to find a place to eat some real Cajun food. I did a search on the internet and found a small local owned Cajun Seafood shop. We arrived there June 11, 2007 around 4:50 pm. The gumbo was good not very big and luke... More
