Though I had been before, since moving to Baton Rouge 5 months ago, I have been able to visit the French Market Bistro many times. Absolutely love it. Love the atmosphere, the staff and of course the food. The chef does amazing grilled fish, always with some great seafood topping like crab or shrimp. The steaks are fabulouse--love the little... I admit, I did not go to the restaurant but was served a French Market Bistro salad while spending a spa day at Le Roche Bleu. I ordered the grilled chicken spinach salad served with blue cheese, candied pecans, grapes and green apples with a heavenly dressing. I had 4 choices for lunch and so glad I picked this one... More

My first time at French Market Bistro- I had no idea this restaurant was hidden in an area so close to me. Service was impeccable, the food was delicious, and they have a full bar (that's everything to me :-) I had a salmon and potato entree-it was fabulous. My husband had the daily special of a (I think) grilled... More

This place was a bit pretentious, but true to the French style. Prices were high, but its a given. Good atmosphere, nice and quiet, but not boring. The perfect place to have a romantic dinner or a quiet business lunch when you need to impress. No dumb loud kiddies here.

My dear friend and I cohosted a reception at the French market bistro today between three and five when they're closed between lunch and dinner. Since it was the LSU home opener we were not sure of the turn out so we opted for a very simple menu. Open bar and cheese and crackers and desserts wow was I surprised.... More

Tucked away in a very small shopping complex way out in the country relative to downtown Baton Rouge, is one of our favorite restaurants for lunch or dinner. The ambience is basically cozy - relaxed elegance. I feel comfortable there in slacks and shirt or in my best pin-striped suit. But more important than ambience is the food - and... More

Lets face it, Baton Rouge is filled with fabulous restaurants, Jubans Mansurs french market et al you would be hard pressed to pick just one. French market is a little gem. Aesthetically very appealing, lots of hidden rooms, nooks and crannies. Very eclectic. Super menu. From the chefs fabulous daily concoctions to pizza and hamburgers. Everything is excellent. Great wine... More
