Guess the title of this review says it all. A Baton Rouge/LSU legendary hangout (although moved to the current location years ago from the original house off campus) but over time the place has lost its appeal. Trouble is, they are still pretty proud of the heavy, fried, flavorless food and price it that way. I do not like tabassco... more
We know this is a BR institution, but we found it mediocre and overpriced. Standard, chain-restaurant menu. Lots of fried (frozen) items; very little that appears to be fresh. more
I've never had a bad meal here. The seafood platter is the best as far as entrees go and for an appetizer try the crawfish rolls, kind of like crabcakes wrapped in eggroll wrappers and fried, YUM more

This place is coasting on its past. It is dirty, dull, and loud. The food is mediocre at best. Why fight the nostalgic crowds? Go somewhere else. more
You're best of getting one of the lunch specials, like the Jason, which are reasonably priced, but expect a long wait any time you go. After football games, forget it unless you bring a sleeping bag. Even though the restaurant is quite popular I do think the food is overrated, even Don's is a little better. more
