I was in town for business and asked my co-workers for a suggestion of local Louisiana cooking, they all recommended Mike Andersons. I was concerned when we arrived and the parking lot was empty but told that we were eating early.I got the The Sid Gautreaux and it was exactly what I wanted. I would highly recommend. By the time... It's a Louisiana style seafood restaurant I would expect to find in the Midwest. I actually had to add so much Tabasco sauce just to get it to taste like something that it tasted like Tabasco sauce. That's all. I grew up in South Louisiana. I know good food. This isn't it. I've tried this place several times. I wanted... More

This was our third trip here. There were 4 adults and a child. We started with oysters on the half shell and chargrilled oysters. Both were delicious. We had crawfish 7 ways, 4 were pretty good but 3 weren't very good. There was fried, broiled, étouffée and crawfish Saldana. We didn't care much for the au graten and the twice... More

Like returning home after an extended holiday..... Starting with the Fried Onion rings and pitchers of beer a tasty & refreshing treat. Onion rings used to be stacked quite high but are now spread out over a larger plate. Did not understand the pricing on the pitchers of beer maybe because they charge for the frosted or cold 'turbo' glasses.... More

When you think of good seafood, think Mike Anderson's. We went for lunch and the food was wonderful. I had seafood gumbo and fried shrimp. YUM!!! One thing that is good about this restaurant is the service. Everything was prompt but unhurried. Try the cole slaw!!

We went to Mike's on a Friday night. They had a wedding party and were very busy but we were waited on fairly quick. And everything we ordered was delivered fast. BUT I ordered the Broiled Seafood Platter ($27.95) and ate it all. I am a very small person with a small appetite most times. The amount of food on... More

My friend and I both ordered the Wednesday special (fried fish topped with etoufee) with a side of sweet potato fries and a hush puppy and grilled oysters as an appetizer. At about $10, the specials are a good choice because this place is PRICEY. Also, I hope you get larger portions with the regular (and more expensive) meals because... More

Visiting Baton Rouge for the first time and my son-in-law suggested Mike Anderson's. When we got there I wasn't too impressed. Looked like any other weekend family place. The smell of char grilled oysters helped me to overcome the initial hesitation :) This was with out a doubt one of the best dinners that I've had this year. Really outstanding... More

I've been a loyal customer for over 10 years. The food is always fresh and so good! Chargrilled oysters are the best! I recommend this restaurant to everyone whether resident, or just passing through!

We took our seafood loving 12 year old son here for his birthday for the crawfish. We waited two hours for a table. When we finally sat down the waitress said that they were out of crawfish. We ordered our food and after 45 minutes most of it came. We saw her serve other people crawfish. We asked her about... More
