Great weekday specials

We get to Baton Rouge a couple times a year and always try to eat at Mike Andersons. If you go there during the week, I would recommend getting the daily special. As we were there on Friday the special was the Catfish Lefete. It is catfish fillets deep fried and topped with crawfish etouffee. The... read more

Been a while since I've been there and really wasn't very impressed. Food was fair but not great. Atmosphere was good.

Few highs and lows to the place. First, server was average. Did not bring us little plates for appetizers. Second, food was very slow coming from the kitchen. Salad, potato salad, and several part of the meal were great. Some of the fried seafood came with a panko coating, not good. Finally, the bread pudding was the worst I have... More

Great, fabulous food! If you want the true cajun seafood you will find it here but you will also find all other types of food at a high level of quality. It stays busy ALL the time so it is best if you call ahead and reserve.

Maybe not being a local puts me at a disadvantage; but I totally enjoyed my dining experience. I had a great server for a business dinner; and we enjoyed first rate offerings from the menu. Meals arrived exactly as ordered, prepared well and great tasting. Our server was there when we needed him; and not there when we didn't. It... More

Based on reviews, my daughter and I decided to eat here during a trip to Baton Rouge for a basketball game. The atmosphere (fireplace, aquariums, wood furnishings) was very welcoming and comfortable. Unfortunately the meal was a disappointment. I had the Mike's Shrimp and it consisted of shrimp drowned in a pool of worcestershire sauce spiced with Tony Chachere spices.... More

The new location in Central has a great atmosphere and the food tastes better there than the old one on Lee Dr. Great place to bring your date or mate.

If you have any memory Mike running College Town Seafood, this operation will make you sad. It seems a "corporate business model" replaced has a great seafood restaurant. Last night I ordered half shrimp and half oysters. I got six good small oysters, five good medium shrimp, mushy, steamed, too salty veggies and an average, previously great, cole slaw for... More

This place is very well run & managed, & the food is excellent. When I go it is the Shrimp Norman, this is butterfly large gulf shrimp with a light sauce on top. It is a little taste of Heaven. The wait staff are pleasant & good at what they do, you can also feel that they actually want &... More
