I frequent Chimes every couple of months with friends but have never been particularly impressed by any aspect of the place. The "authentic" cajun food is merely ok but doesn't remotely measure up to many of the smaller local establishments you can find in the area if you take the time to look. The beer list is pleasantly large and... More

Came here with my sister for lunch. The restaurant is right off of the lsu campus, so its good for sightseeing! They have an extensive beer menu, but no descriptions of said beers- the descriptions are all on a third party website. We were seated promptly and our waitress was patient while was decided what we wanted to drink. We... More

The food was fantastic. I had the Boudin (boo-dan) balls as an appetizer. Large portions feed 4 easy. The split the meal with a small seafood gumbo and a small crawfish etoufe. There was a lot of seafood in every bite. Very authentic and very good. A friend had fried catfish that was lightly breaded and really good. Call ahead.... More

This place was recommended to us, and the food did not disappoint. The New Orleans style shrimp was pretty much exactly what I was hoping for, and the hushpuppies were some of the best I've ever had. The only reason I give this 4 stars instead of 5 is because it was very, very busy. We went at 6pm and... More

I moved here 6 months ago and I'm not 5 minutes away from this place. Always heard good things and noticed it rates high on tripadvisor so I finally made my way here. I gotta say, it deserves it's rightful place among the top places to eat in Baton Rouge. Food is good, it has a great vibe, the prices... More

For Sunday brunch, patrons line up for the 10:30 opening. Food is delicious and the best value for brunch in town.

Although it took a little finding this place it was well worth it. Just a little off of LSU campus. They have every Beer on Tap that you can name!. Food was excellent and staff super friendly. Love the décor too!

I ate at The Chimes with my teenage daughter and my college age son recently. The atmosphere was fun...old and historic but very lively. There were people of every age and description there, young and old. The food was absolutely wonderful and reasonably priced. My favorite were the garlic cheese grits. Definitely worth going and I will make this part... More

this place is worth the stop. Delicious crab cakes, oysters on the half shell & red beans & rice. I will be going back. Plus fun & lively ambiance. Wide selection of beer, nice choices of vino.
