Good atmosphere

A good range of southern food at reasonable prices. Restaurant was busy when we were there which created a friendly and vibrant atmosphere. Quickly served with a good range of beers. Portions are generous so get ready for the 'doggy bag'

I had dinner at this restaurant based on a recommendation from a local, and I was not disappointed. The food was very good, and the environment (inside AND outside) was great - even on cool evenings. I will definitely eat at The Chimes again during future visits to Baton Rouge!

The school year had ended, but it was still crowded. However, they have more beers on tap than I can ever recall seeing before. Their on tap list was longer than most restaurant's bottled list. The food was excellent, the staff was prompt and courteous.

Had the boudin omelette with white sausage gravy and it was the BOMB💣💣💣. Started out with the boudin balls which were also great. Then had the duck/sausage gumbo which was also great. Finished out dinner with the pecan bread pudding that was to die for. Large selection of beers. If you are in Baton Rouge you gotta do this place.... More

This is a very casual but fun place to go. We were there for a pre-graduation celebration. I would call the food "bar food" but it's good! We had lots of fried stuff and everyone enjoyed it...the alligator, onion rings, mushrooms, spinach dip with pasta. You can order a flight of beers and enjoy a sample of several. It's a... More

Can't go wrong with anything on the menu. However, we always get the alligator as an appetizer. They have a great selection of beer on tap. You may have a difficult time narrowing down your selections. At the Highland Road location, get there early because it can get crowded when school is in session at LSU. Although the Coursey location... More

As usual The Chimes (LSU) is by far a great place to eat. I was seated promptly, in my area of choice, and served my food (Seafood Pasta) quickly. Can't go wrong!

I am extremely picky when it comes to seafood. I'll only eat it when I'm home in Louisiana. The Chimes has, by far, THE best crab cakes on the planet! They are made of crab, shrimp AND crawfish! I think they might be baked because they are not greasy. I have them every single time I visit the Chimes. Their... More

At first I thought this was just your typical sports bar/college restaurant on campus but they actually have really good food. The stuffed mushrooms are great, they have a pretty impressive caesar salad, and their gumbo is probably the best in town. It's one of the few places near campus that stays open late and there's really nothing on their... More

The food is good, nothing to rave about, like most places of this kind in Baton Rouge, they can fry catfish pretty well, but why we keep going back is the relaxed and fun atmosphere and more importantly the huge selection of beer to choose from, so many taps to choose from, from blonds, to stouts, to ipa's, it's all...
