A nice place to have buffet for lunch. Nothing fancy but good choice of vegetables and couple meats. Soups are very good.

Decent buffet and an average price for lunch, but the service needs improving. The hostess was less than welcoming, and made no apologies for the close to 6 minutes waiting for her to seat us, especially in light of the fact that they were not at all busy. This place has great atmosphere and has the potential to really compliment... More

The place is none too clean and the service is abysmal. Go for the soup and salad bar. The salad bar is average, but the two pepper soups I had were two of the best soups I've ever had. Ever.

A friend highly recommended the buffet; I have no idea what he was talking about as it was barely edible. $28 for the seafood buffet, with tasteless food. Only two kinds of cake for dessert, neither very good. Sorry, but at least when I was there last week, it was very disappointing.

This place was awful -- the server was rude, the food was not great (though not horrible), the walls were cracked and had a huge hole next to my husband's heads, which no one seemed to think was odd or frightening. I spent the meal concerned that something was about to crawl out of the wall -- and that the... More

We had always heard this was a good place to eat but were very disappointed. We had very poor service, faulty charge to our card and below average food. Everything was incredibly greasy and the hot brown was by far the worst I had ever had.

We went for dinner based on the restaurant's reputation, and overall found the experience disappointing. Food was variable - the seafood gumbo was excellent, as were the fried green tomatoes, the fried chicken, and the potato soup but the pulled pork was separated too finely, the hush puppies were terrible, and the various fried foods tasted like they had all... For our first night in Springfield, we went to Mordecai’s on Main Street. We each enjoyed the seafood buffet and a tasty sandwich. Our waitress was very entertaining. All-in-all, a good place for a meal.

Mordecai's is named after President Lincoln's father. Located in an old grocery store. They have outdoor dinning but the inside is more convenient to the buffet. I have ordered off the menu and done the buffet, the food is good not high quality but good. The catfish is very good for catfish and the burgers are good. The potato soup... More

We were visiting Springfield while we did the Bourbon Trail. We stopped here on a Friday night on a locals reccomendation. I was with a party of 4 and we were seated quickly. I ordered the Catfish Dinner with mashed potatotes. Included with the meal was all you could eat salad bar and soup. I got a bown of the... More
