I recently stayed in the area and Guthrie's River House was highly recommended so I had high expectations. Unfortunately they were not met. Our server appeared to be very tired and provided lackluster service. The young male server at a nearby table however appeared to be very knowledgeable and enthusiastic, telling the patrons about specials and recommending entrees. They have... More

This is an excellent place for dinner. The food was delicious and the location is right on the river with a fabulous view. The service was good and the menu was full. I had the crab and lobster stuffed salmon (special of the night) and someone in my group got the steak special and another one got the Mahi Mahi... More

Steak as good as Malones. Salmon was properly cooked. Avoid Mediterranean salad - canned olives, canned artichokes, weak feta cheese equal a bland experience. Service was excellent on a busy evening.

Did I say great? Driving from the Smokies to Mammoth Cave on our way back home to Chicago and stopped in to Guthrie's for lunch. The reviews were solid, but my expectations were set for adequate. The interior is not much to speak of, but it does have a lovely view of Lake Cumberland. Then we sat down with our... More

Tripadvisor listing Guthrie's as #2 in Somerset was the main reason we tried it and sadly, we were extremely disappointed. First off, they seated us at a round table right next to the hostess'stand and waiting area, an awkward spot overlooking another table and making eye contact with everyone that walked in the door. They also forgot one of the... More

A far cry from the chain restaurant. Of all the places we've traveled, we've never found a better steak. Everything is fresh and the lake ambiance is the perfect end to the day. Sweet tea over looking the lake...A perfect wind down for a Friday night.

Came for lunch. All you can eat catfish on Sunday, and the first plate filled me up! I could sit on the patio and look out over the lake all day. Great place!

I travel a lot and I am always looking for something different. Asked the guy at the hotel where to go and initially he said Texas Roadhouse. When I asked about this place he said it's pricey but good. I had a house salad, ribeye, and grilled asparagus (10oz 19.99). Everything was done very well. My steak was cooked to... More

We came here with a group of 20 and all our food was good and the staff got everything right. The food was good and I even tried to replicate the salmon salad that I received. The prices are little high for the main entrees. We tried to stick to the salads, flat bread pizzas, and hamburgers. They also had... More
