We took a bus to this wonderful place to eat.We enjoyed visiting the shops while we waited to be seated some friends found some wonderful clothing that was really low priced on sale. We were seated at round tables with friends from our church. everything on the menu was delicious as others at our table had different foods. I had... More

Apart of the history of Science Hill and Wakefield Scearce Gallary, you step back in time when you dine at Science Hill. Tables are adorned with White table cloths and the room is filled with Silver serving sets. Your servers are dressed in black and white and the men in tuxedo.... The atmosphere gives you the old plantation feel or... More

Went for lunch. Very good service and food. This is in an old boarding school building. Also has a couple of other small shops and Wakefield/Scearce antique gallery. The gallery is a good place to look and if you have a LOT of money no doubt a fine place to shop. Mostly English antiques and silver.

My husband and I were staying in Old Towne Louisville (our 8th visit) and was looking for a day trip nearby. Shelbyville is about 30 miles away. The Science Hill Inn had been a girls school for over a hundred years, it now contains some unique shops and a beautiful, refined dining room. Eating here was like traveling back in time.... More

Eating here is like traveling back in time: elegant, slow paced, with excellent food. Most of the very attentive service staff has been here for years which is a good sign. The hot water cornbread never lasts long on the table. The hot brown is excellent as is the trout. This is a setting more appropriate for adults than small... More

I was off during the Holidays, so I called my parents and asked them to meet me for lunch, it was WONDERFUL! The staff was awesome, Arthur is on the ball, EVERY time we go here! Food is always top notch, so I most definately recommend eating here! Christmas decorations at the Gallery are very much worth checking out too!

We like the food and service at Science Hill Inn. Especially during the holidays when all the shops in the building are decorated for Christmas. It is a destination location for us Louisville folks to have a great lunch and shop for unique items as well as marvel at the decorations and antiques. It is an old time dining room... More

My husband took our young granddaughter to lunch on a Friday. It was very busy and we didn't realize we should have reservations. The staff was gracious and seated us anyway. The food was wonderful. We had salmon and hot brown. There is not a kid's menu. The only negative was the other patrons. They were snooty and rude. I... More

Ate here mid week with four others. Service was good but busy at lunch. Food was super good. Not for folks on a low cal diet but if ou like Southern fired chicken and all the grits etc. it was excellent. Homemade salad dressings were great on salads. prices were from 12 to 15 dollars for lunch. Very cute historic... More

My spouse and I went Science Hill for brunch on Sunday. Service is from 11 AM to 2 PM. Reservations would be a good idea, especially later in the service. The brunch was an excellent assortment of quality Kentucky dinner items, since the midday meal was the largest meal of the day. There were several high points. The first was... More
