Not as exciting as I expected

My wife and I tried this landmark establishment for lunch on our way to a spring vacation. I had heard about the relationship to Col. Sanders and his "finger lickin" chicken a year or so ago while on a previous vacation in Kentucky. Lunch here is certainly better than fast food but it wasn't as... read more

I like to take out of towners here. It's perfect when you want to host visitors with authentic Kentucky fried chicken or hot Browns, KFC history, and available alcohol for those who imbibe. It's a short drive east of Louisville. Try to take highway 60, not the interstate 64. From Louisville, the highway takes you past lots of nice horse... More

The all you can eat chicken and side dishes were great and the atmosphere is a far cry from KFC. It is a must for any visitor or even the long time resident like myself.

This yummy establishment brings country cooking and best fried chicken ever table side.the colonel has nothing on his wife, Claudia. There is plenty of food and yummy desserts. A throw back to simpler days.

A little piece of Kentucky paradise! I loved the food so much and the history of KFC is everywhere! The outside area was beyond beautiful! Nice servers, great food! Will for sure be going back!

The reservation was messed up when we arrived event though they had called a few days before verify that we would be there. Tables were a crude concoction put together, it worked but was not user friendly. The server had a great personality but was totally unorganized. The food for the most part was very ordinary. The fried chicken while... More

Place wasn't very crowded the day after Christmas. However, our service was marginal. Took awhile for anyone to wait on our group. Staff didn't seem to know who was assigned to our table. Waiter seemed very stressed. The menu was confusing and the waiter didn't help matters. Food portions were immense. Then waiter came back and said we were entitled... More

We dined here in 2011 we enjoyed the meal and atmosphere, its wonderful to see the history of KFC and why Claudia created this Homestead Diner... in 2015 we returned and were greeted by the same waitress, who was enthusiastic to see us again and remembered our names..... we were spoilt with hot bread "muffins", menu choices were plentiful, sides... If old fashioned southern cooking is what you want, this is the place . Fried chicken is the highlight along with a vast selection of southern style vegetables.

We drove 30 miles out of our way to experience true KFC! Ordered the all you can eat chicken because it came with every single side on the menu - corn pudding, creamed spinach, mock oysters (breaded eggplant), stewed tomatoes, stewed beets, green beans w/ ham, mashed potatoes with milk gravy and the most delicious home made dinner rolls. Loved... More
