Really great

Lunch with mom. I had a Reuben with bacon potato salad, she had tomato basil soup and the salmon burger. Everything was fresh and made on the spot. Best fresh peach pie we had ever had. We are definitely going back. Something on the menu for everyone. And the owners were both sooooo nice. The kind... read more

Was in Louisville to visit the Zachary Taylor National Cemetery, after our visit we were looking for a place to have lunch. Found this diner right down the road from the cemetery. Terrific choice. Small diner, but great choices for lunch. I had the chicken salad, with a side of potato salad and homemade chips. It was great. Others had... More

It was really good. We went on a Saturday and they only serve breakfast until noon. We got there about 11:40 but wanted lunch so went next door to shop and kill 20 minutes. Came back and the line was suddenly almost out the door. We had to squeeze in! The owners (?) And staff were incredibly nice. The food... More

I have lived in the Louisville area my whole life and can't believe I just ate here for the first time. If you don't know it's there you will pass right by it. I met a friend for lunch and I was so surprised by this cute little place. The staff are so friendly and made me feel so welcomed.... More

My husband & I stop at the Shady Lane Cafe every time we go through Louisville on the way to Nashville. It is easily reached off I 264 at the Brownsboro Exit. It has a lot of variety to the menu, offering both meat and some vegetarian options. The desserts are wonderful and homemade and the atmosphere is unique and... More

Shady Lane Cafe in Brownsboro Shopping Center is, hands down, the best kept little secret in Louisville. I have probably tried everything in the menu at this point, since I meet friends there at least once a week. The Brownsboro Burger is the best in the city, the Benedictine and Bacon Wrap is heavenly, and the homemade potato chips are... More

This small establishment has an eclectic atmosphere and very good and diverse lunch food. We had a Rueben and the Pimento Cheese and Bacon sandwiches. Both were excellent. In addition, the owners are very exuberant which makes for an enjoyable visit. Might be a good place for Triple D to visit if they come back to the Ville.

Read about this on TripAdvisor and so we tried it for lunch. (Not open for dinner) Not many tables and a line to place order at 1pm, but the quirkiness and menu choices offset that. Things like Pimento Cheese or Benedictine sandwiches and their meatloaf. Clam chowder was good and although I did not order the "sweeties" sweet potato french... More

Great place for breakfast and/or lunch. The Brownsboro Burger is great but the meatloaf sandwich with Henry Bain's sauce and fried onions was even better. You have to try the homemade chips. You can always find an interesting breakfast omelette here. Be sure you check out the daily specials for delicious finds.

Everything is home made and delicious! It's only open for breakfast and lunch and closed on Mondays. Susie greets everyone as if you are a long lost friend. The hamburger is a must. Absolutely delicious!! Salmon burger with dill sauce is yummy. Make sure you leave room, or share with a friend, one of her exquisite and out of this... More
