We stopped here because my dad recommended it. The service was awesome. The owner also friendly. We wanted to sit outside but we didn't know about the heat advisory. The restaurant has lots of cool decorations and the prices of the food were good too. Will definitely visit this place again next time we are in the area.

Good location by the river. Decent food, decent prices. It's a great family place, very kid friendly.

Shrimp casserole with crabmeat and cheese and wine sauce was tasty. Service was friendly if a little slow. Outside patio was nice on a warm night. Restaurant is highly recommended by quilters and the hotel we stayed in.

The food at Whaler's Catch was good, but not outstanding. Drinks were good and the atmosphere was very nice. We sat outside and enjoyed a beautiful early fall evening. I'll probably go back, but it isn't a "must".

For a non-ocean restaurant (we do have the Ohio River) Whaler's Catch is top-notch and sure to please. For the best ambience, sit outside in the Crow's nest overlooking the Ohio River and the Murals on the floodwall.. Terrific food, great service and friendly staff. Try it.

I grew up in Paducah, and have since lived all over the country before eventually settling on the East Coast. Despite culinary adventures all over the world, I still tell people that my favorite restaurant is Whaler's Catch in Paducah. This is still the case, because it turns out that Ro Morse's recipes are so incredibly amazing and timeless that they're... Paducah has so many nice restaurants downtown that I often frequent, but chose this one last night as I had 2 grandchildren with me, ages 11 and 8, who liked how it "looked". It was hot and muggy outside so we chose to eat indoors. We were seated promptly and greeted by our server who took our drink orders immediately.... More

We both really enjoyed the atmosphere of this restaurant. I had the shrimp creole which was delicious and a generous portion. My husband had the grilled appetizer frog legs which he doesn't recommend. They tasted baked more than grilled; not much flavor or amount for the money. The ratings are based on the meal that was liked.

I am not the world's greatest seafood fan, but our meal here was excellent. We stopped for lunch after the National Quilt Museum. It was raining and we enjoyed a nice walk to the restaurant (under umbrella of course).

My husband and I enjoyed another excellent meal at Whaler's last night. I had the grilled trout with green beans and a salad with the house poppy seed dressing. The trout was grilled and seasoned perfectly and the portion was very generous. The green beans were delicious southern style green beans. The salad was fresh and crisp and I love... More
