We were told that the restaurant owner passed away and the restaurant is closed and not expected to reopen. It's a great location and charming atmosphere. Hope someone else is able to take over. We have eaten there in the past and were quite pleased.

For a city surrounded by water, Paducah is woefully landlocked when it comes to finding really great seafood. Whaler's Catch is the best we've found. It isn't what we've been used to in larger cities, but it's consistent and always pretty good. Definitely worth a visit or two. It's a favorite when the annual quilt show is in town, and... More

My husband and I eat here whenever we are in Paducah. We usually have the seafood pot pie, which is delicious. The complimentary black-eyed peas are also wonderful.

If your a seafood lover in the mood for some good seafood that you won't find just anywhere this is the place. Can be a little pricey but you get a good size serving and it is seafood so not unreasonable.

I have been in Paducah for 25 years, and have eaten at Whalers many times. While some of their dishes- especially the crab cakes and chowder, are really good, forget the shrimp. You can get fresher, better tasting at Sam's club.

Whaler's Catch has great seafood, tasty complimentary black-eyed peas, an accommodating and friendly staff, and unique decor for a relaxing nautical atmosphere. Seasonal outdoor dining is available on a 1st floor deck, as well as a 2nd floor deck with a view of the Ohio River. A large parking lot is just across the street and all the festivals are... More

I called in my reservation to confirm that they could accommodate gluten free. They said no problem just let your waitress know. When I discussed with my waitress she seemed very hesitate and did not seem to have good handle on gluten free. There was one point when I was asking questions that her answer was very vague that I... More

Visited Whaler's Catch recently with a group and it was good, not great, in my opinion. I ordered the crab cakes and they were more bread than crab. The alligator and hush puppy appetizers were really good, so I'm going to give this restaurant another chance, the next time I'm in the area.

Great service with excellent seafood. Blackened Ahi tuna was to die for. Try the butterfly shrimp with the sweet/tangy sauce - it's addicting! Our waiter was very nice - friendly staff. I'd definitely recommend this place. The decor is nice with stained glass sea-scapes, and carved wooden people/animals.
