Ok I am not a restaurant snob - my friends love this place. I didn't . They live in Kentucky and I don't - maybe that's the difference. But services was slow. Food was ok. In fact it really wasn't even ok for the price. Over salted, tasteless fish. I did not say anything to them because I was did... More

We drove down from IL on some great recommendations from friends to try out Whalers Catch. We were disappointed first by the tiny serving of over coated and flavorless calamari. My DH ordered the blackened trout and found it to be very salty and very fishy (we eat a lot of fish ... This was fishy!). My son had the... More

We stopped here because my dad recommended it. The service was awesome. The owner also friendly. We wanted to sit outside but we didn't know about the heat advisory. The restaurant has lots of cool decorations and the prices of the food were good too. Will definitely visit this place again next time we are in the area.

The appetizers (calamari & alligator tail) were perfect. The seafood potpourri was generous and cooked perfectly. Dessert was beignets with chocolate dipping sauce and key lime pie. Again, perfect. Our waitress, Linda, was.....what's the word...ah, yes, perfect. This meal was the best I have had in a long time, and well worth the drive from Fairview, TN. We will come back... More

Shrimp casserole with crabmeat and cheese and wine sauce was tasty. Service was friendly if a little slow. Outside patio was nice on a warm night. Restaurant is highly recommended by quilters and the hotel we stayed in.

The food at Whaler's Catch was good, but not outstanding. Drinks were good and the atmosphere was very nice. We sat outside and enjoyed a beautiful early fall evening. I'll probably go back, but it isn't a "must".

For a non-ocean restaurant (we do have the Ohio River) Whaler's Catch is top-notch and sure to please. For the best ambience, sit outside in the Crow's nest overlooking the Ohio River and the Murals on the floodwall.. Terrific food, great service and friendly staff. Try it.

I grew up in Paducah, and have since lived all over the country before eventually settling on the East Coast. Despite culinary adventures all over the world, I still tell people that my favorite restaurant is Whaler's Catch in Paducah. This is still the case, because it turns out that Ro Morse's recipes are so incredibly amazing and timeless that they're... Paducah has so many nice restaurants downtown that I often frequent, but chose this one last night as I had 2 grandchildren with me, ages 11 and 8, who liked how it "looked". It was hot and muggy outside so we chose to eat indoors. We were seated promptly and greeted by our server who took our drink orders immediately.... More
