The food and service here are both very good and the prices reasonable. The location is excellent - central downtown Paducah, right on the river frontage. What more could you ask for?

I grew up in the area and always heard of how good Whaler's Catch was. I took my wife to paducah and while we were there we tried this place. I try to support local restaurants and avoid chain restaurants. At first the place was packed and we were seated right away. The place is really cluttered and appears to...

Nice place, cool people but we didn't get good fish in any of our meals. Everything was over cooked an dry. Grouper, Mahi, rougfy and spring pasta.
Visited during a recent trip to the area. Had no idea of the Quilt Convention in town. Though the restaurant was busy, everyone was friendly. We ordered the alligator bites and fried okra to start off our meal. Both were fabulous. Then came our salads. Mine had several pieces of old, brown, slimy lettuce. Not at all something I would...

My wife and I ate here for lunch and found it to be very good. I had grilled catfish which was excellent. My wife had shrimp scampi which was also very good. The service was good even though it was at the height of the Quilters Convention week and the place was packed. The price was very reasonable.
My husband and I went for an early dinner. The hostess acted like we were putting her out. We almost left but gave it a try. Our waitress was a pleasant improvement. I had the Maryland crab cakes and they were okay but nothing special. Hubby had shrimp and was disappointed. I definitely will not go back.
We went for Mardi Gras nite and it was wonderful. We have enjoyed several great meals at Whaler's. Always a great meal anytime.
Comfort type food, a little hit-or-miss on the menu, service at the bar can be a little slow.
Large selection on the menu. Even though it's a seafood place, there are a number of non-seafood dishes. Decent bar selection, though they could use some craft beers (settled for a Foster's).
I visit Paducah several times a year. While the Whaler's...

The food was all very good. The price is high but if you've ever eaten fresh seafood on the coast it's comparable. Not quite as good as that but close. The atmosphere is good. The service was good but the waitress seemed not too happy for some reason. I don't think she cracked a smile once but the service was...

My wife's family is originally from here, so we've tried this restaurant several times over the years. We lean toward downtown river area restaurants rather than the usual chains around I-24. The Whaler's Catch has been consistent over the years. It's a popular "comfort seafood" dining spot for locals. The staff is outstanding. The decor and atmosphere perfectly fit the...
