Good all around.

We read mixed reviews of this place, and I say, good food. I would be happy to make coleslaw that good, the beans were delicious, and the ribs were fantastic. The service was wonderful, staff was all around very friendly and accommodating. It is, like so many barbeque places, very spare in... read more

Am not usually a big fan of B-B-Q ribs because they're often too greasy, too dry or lacking enough meat. We've enjoyed Backwoods pulled pork for several years and after sampling their ribs at Paducah's annual Barbecue On The River festival last September, we ordered a rack of ribs and some cold slaw today to take home for supper. They... More

The pulled pork had just the right amount of smoke flavor and it melted in our mouths. The sauces were spicy with full flavor. The beans were perfect. Just great BBQ.

I met a friend from St. Thomas VI who wanted BBQ. She was staying in Paducah so I met her at Backwoods BBQ. She had the chicken and I had the ribs. Both were very good and the blackberry cobbler was yummy!!! We had a half rack, 1/2 chicken, sides, drinks, beer and dessert. mid $30's Left full and satisfied!!... More

When we are on a road trip, it is easy to get really tired of eating in anything that remotely resembles a chain restaurant. And in Paducah for some reason, the hotels are not located in the downtown area where the local restaurants are, but out towards the highway where the chain restaurants are, with the exception of Backwoods BBQ.... After Iowa's attempt at BBQ, it was good to get back home to real BBQ. I had the pork plate, the wife had the chicken and mother had the ham. Mine was wonderful and all looked good and appetizing. This is a no frills diner atmosphere with paper towels at the table and nothing fancy in the presentation. The BBQ... More

Just happened in on the place. What a find!! Great ribs and pulled pork. Reasonably priced. The rib meat just fell off the bone, but was not greasy. Kudos to the chef/owners. I have heaped praise all the way back to Northern Illinois. My only stop when I pass through Paducah!

We had a great lunch, and our service was great. The pulled pork sandwich was very good at a great price. We had the chocolate pie to finish our lunch.

Restaurant is basic and low key but the ribs are high key tummylicious. Fall off the bone but maintain great texture. Smoked and covered in a good rub. The 1/2 chicken is also good. Worth a try for sure. Now if I was you I would skip dinner altogether and try something called chess pie. Butter and sugar is all... More

Alright, the ribs are soft and falling off the bone but this is not a chain that has perfected holding food for long periods. Backwoods ribs has really nice flavor and two sauces, one hot, one mild that, as one reviewer noted "when mixed together are perfect". I had the half rack of ribs with beans and slaw. Yes the...
