We came to Owensboro with some friends from Evansville. Having time before the hitting up the drive-in, we decided Mexican sounded good. We stood inside waiting to be seated for about 5 minutes. A waiter finally greeted us, who hands my friend 4 menus and tells us to go sit wherever. He ended up following us to our seat outside... More

Have been several times over the last 5 years, service is always a problem. Extremely slow service. The only reason I have been back is the location. The patio seating facing the river is beautiful. Owensboro has a public smoking policy which seems to be ignored here as I have sat beside people smoking with kids at a table nearby.... More

This has been one of our favorite places to eat every time we visit Owensboro. Atmosphere is beautiful being right on the river front. The first couple times we came it was awesome. The last two times have been terrible. Once they sat us at a dirty table where the bus boy wiped the dirty table into my lap. Then... More

Their salsa sucks. That's the biggest part of a mexican restaurant for me. I've never been very impressed with their food. It's no where near as good as Real Hacienda.

The water view is all this place has going for it. The food was unable to eat. When we walked by a table while being seated that had all the food left on the plate and chips in the basket, we should have ran!!!!! Seriously worst Mexican food anywhere. However the bus-man was helpful and friendly. (he got us our... More

The location is great, but facilities are dingy, and service was poor. Food was only so-so. Don't bother eating here.

I rarely post reviews on business establishments. However, my experience at El Torbio last night warrants my comments. My family and I decided to try El Torbio based on friends reviews. We arrived around 6:30pm and the restaurant was busy. So busy, that there was no hostess to be seen. After waiting in the entryway of El Torbio for over... More

Owensboro needs more restaurants with outdoor seating, especially on the riverfront....Downtown could generate more business with some attractions overlooking the river

I'm told there are lots of yummy treats on the menu but I stick to the one dish I crave. There are other wonderful dishes but I've already mispelled a few words and I don't want to risk further embarrasment. The waitstaff and management have varying degrees of difficulty with english but I like this. Every time I go they... More

I have been there before and should have listened to my inner voice. Service was unfriendly, sloppy the server just didn't care. I ordered the taco salad, it was uneadable. the ground beef was like sloppy joe soup, all it had was chopped lettuce and a huge pile of cheap sour cream in a crisp shell that was soft and... More
